Blinky x Reader

You're a changling, and of course, that means you get your fair share of glares and the occasional "impure," from some of the trolls in trollmarket. It didn't bother you as much anymore. Jim, Toby, and the others have done their best to make sure you felt welcome. They even went as far as to give you your own horngazzle, that way you could come by anytime you wanted. It was nice to be treated in such a way. It was definitely far better than when you were forced to work with Bular, but that's another story entirely.

This evening in particular, you were pacing around the apartment you'd used for your human guise. Maybe you could be helpful in some way at Trollmarket. You packed a small bag and made your way to Trollmarket. It was pretty late, so it was likely that none of the kids would be there, recalling Jim saying he couldn't afford to be late to Spanish class again.

Trollmarket was bustling as usual, trolls walking around carrying about their evening. You made your way to the forge, seeing it was empty and quiet. Perhaps the library? You were correct, Blinky and Aaargh were there. Aargh watched as Blinky arranged some books on one of his shelves. Blinky is too engrossed in his books to notice your arrival, however, Aaargh gives you a big smile, "y/n." Blinky's head snaps your way, "Ah, y/n, I didn't realize you were here." I gave Blinky a small smile, still in my human form. "I thought maybe I'd come by and see if I could help with anything?" Blinky nodded his head, "I don't see why not."

The two of you spent hours sorting books and dusting off shelves. Aargh had left a while ago, it was just you and Blinky now. You decided to take a break, grabbing one of the books off a pile and flipping through the pages. A few minutes go by, and Blinky peers over your shoulder, looking to see what you were reading. "That's a good one," he says softly. "Tell me about it?"

You had a bit of a soft spot for Blinky. He was different than the other trolls you had met. He was kind, intelligent, and was one of the first of them to welcome you into Trollmarket. Although, you didn't think that he would ever be capable of returning your feelings since you were a changing after all.

The two of you spent a considerable amount of time discussing the book. You would listen to his voice, giving a small comment here and there, but otherwise remaining attentive. It wasn't much longer until your lids were getting heavy and begin to close. Waking up a while later, a blanket wrapped around your shoulders. You peeled open your eyes, realizing that you could feel an arm around your waist.

You were in his lap. Blinky was quietly reading a book while holding you in his lap. "B-blinky?" He looked down at you, smiling, "Apologies, you fell asleep and I..." he trailed off looking at you. You could feel your face heat up and soon it was hard to keep it together. With a flash you burst into your troll form and the spot on Blinky's lap got smaller. "I-uh-."

"So what are you reading?"
