Justin Fields is looking to reach for the sky.

The 5th veteran is on his third team since being drafted 11th overall in the 2021 draft after a stressful tenure with the Chicago Bears and spent last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fields believes that he's ready for the best season of his career,

"I think I can be great." Fields told the media that's been the goal for me my whole life, my whole career. Like I've said, I think the sky's the limit for this team, for this offense."

Not only has Fields struggled to find a winning rhythm in the NFL, but the New York Jets have as well. The Jets have not sniffed the postseason since 2010, the longest active streak of non-postseason appearances in all major sports leagues. Adding insult to injury, the 'Gang Green defense' has only retained 46 wins since 2016, ranking last in the NFL.

The Jets are coming in with high hopes after signing Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract during free agency and hiring former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and their new head coach; there is always a reason to.

Pittsburgh Steelers will play the New York Jets in Week 1 of the 2025 season, and Fields has no hard feelings towards the Steel City when asked about playing against his former team.

Just Fields spent 3 seasons with the Chicago Bears, throwing 40 touchdowns and rushing over 2,000 yards during his time in Chicago, then was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers last season for a 6th round pick, starting the first six games, winning four of them before being benched for former Super Bowl Champion Russell Wilson.
