Pulptober 6th - Friendly Femme Fatale - Belit
Not the friendliest (to anyone that isn't a smouldering tiger-thewed Northener, anyhow) but certainly fatal. If anyone quibbles with Belit as femme fatale you can go have an edit war with the Wikipedia article for Queen of the Black Coast.
Belit is understandably the subject of a lot of work in the adaptations of... I'll be polite and say 'variable' quality. I'm of the opinion that enigmatic characters become orders of magnitude less interesting when their backstories are actually detailed. Sometimes a blood-drenched pirate queen who wants to watch the wealth of nations pour through her fingers should just be... that.
Art by Mark Schultz, Aaron McConnell and Becky Cloonan.
I have discovered this post on Aaron McConnell's blog where he shares a short horror-styled comic strip he did for the promotion of the Portland Opera rendition of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel.

I especially like page number 2
Sir Tunty is celebrating today! When Lee did his portrait back in the day, he modeled his face on the die he designed for 13th Age. And just as Sir Tunty has been upgraded, 13th Age's second massive edition is Kickstarting now, featuring loads of Lee's artwork. Link here:)
