dear aphobes,
if you wouldn’t say to an ace person’s face that the oppression they’ve faced isn’t oppressive enough, that their bad experiences aren’t as bad as other people’s so they don’t belong in the lgbt space, that you need more proof of their oppression, so you can decide if they’re oppressed or not,
then don’t type it on your blog. guess what, typing it on your blog doesn’t make you any less of an asshole! because i guarantee, there’s someone reading that shit, listening to you tell them that the corrective rape they’ve faced, the forced sex they’ve endured, the shit their family and society have put them through telling them they’re broken and wrong, the confusion and distortion and isolation and self-hate they’ve gone through because of something they didn’t choose to be, none of that matters because their statistic isn’t big enough for you.
oppression isn’t a competition, and you don’t get to decide if someone else is oppressed or not.
if you have an opinion that could harm someone else, no matter how right you think you are, fucking keep it to yourself. your opinion is not more important than harming another living, breathing person.
and quit thinking that hiding behind your keyboard on a blog makes you any better than the person who said it to an ace person’s face. it doesn’t.
heard it was trans day of visibility
