The nature of antigens present in the serum determines the blood type. AB negative suggests that an individual has both the antigens A and B. Individuals who are AB blood group are commonly called universal plasma donors because their plasma can be transfused to any person of whatever blood group.
This means an approximately 0.6% of the population has an AB negative blood. Not all of the ethnic groups share the same proportions of the AB negative blood type though.
AB Negative is a collection of short stories about crime set in Alberta, Canada. I was disappointed this wasn’t a true crime book like I expected. I’m not the biggest fan of short stories, so this book is a solid B. Maybe. Not the best.
1. Murder on the Mall by Randy McCharles
This story was okay. Just okay. The way the writer wrote it is very “Sin City” (movie) like. Trying to make the narrator sound all bad ass, but I just found it kind of cheesy. Like he’s narrating it in the cliche way P.Is in movies do.
2. Freezer Breakdown by Susan Calder
Well it starts out with a surprise. That caught me off guard. It didn’t have an ending though. Like not even a real cliffhanger. It kind of just stopped. There was a lot missing too. Motive, background. It was kind of there, just not enough for me. This is one of the reasons I’m not a huge fan of short stories.
3. Devil’s Due by Axel Howerton
I couldn’t tell if the middle bits were from a song or something that he based the characters on? I don’t know. I didn’t really like this one that much.
4. Moveable Type by S.G Wong
I really liked this one. Kept me interested.
5. A Dead Reckoning by Robert Bose
I liked the beginning, but the more unrealistic it got, the more it lost my interest.
6. The Workman’s Friend by Janice MacDonald
Short but good.
7. The Coelacanth Samba by Al Onia
It lost me at the end there. What were they investigating? I don’t feel like re0reading to find out.
8. Cappy’s Smart Monkey by Shawn Wildwind
I really liked this story. A+
9. Silicone Hearts by Brent Nichols
I liked this one too. I doubt I could live surrounded by that many robo-people. It was a very interesting story witha a very interesting crime.
10. A Little Bit Easy by Therese Greenwood
I really liked this one too. Very interesting with the whole voodoo bit. I quite enjoyed this one.
11. Butch’s Last Lesson by R. Overwater
Drugs. Don’t do ‘em. I liked this one too.
12. Hell Hath No Fury by Dwayne E Clayden
Good story. I agree with the brother. “Quit talking like a fucking weirdo.” Why does everyone write P.Is the same? Why do they always talk that cliche way? I’ve never met a P.I but I feel like these writers have just watched too many movies.
13. Sudden Death by Jayne Barnard
I really liked this one. It was funny.
14. The Mystery of the Missing Heir by Kevin P Thorton
The publicity for some films doesn’t really give the film a chance. To look at the poster for The London Firm (on the left), you are presented with an image that supposedly says something about the story or theme. The film would seem to be about London gangsters doing their thing, possibly heist related, in the centre of London. What we actually get is something very different. I realise that the…
BR hint (given in S2E8): One percent of the population is AB negative. Is this a coincidence, or did Eric know about Jason or are all humans (in TB) with the blood type AB negative, fae ;) ?
