I like to imagine that the BatFam has grown such extreme overprotective tendencies (like father like son) and are just so used to being around others like it, that they just forget that it’s not normal behavior.
Like:
Kon waking up at 3AM because he feels fingers on his throat suddenly. He of course startles awake and grabs the person, finding a still vigilante dressed Tim, mumbling at him.
“Just wanted to check your pulse. I already checked the others.”
Kon, both bewildered and now slightly scared simply releases Tim and he wanders off to his own room, crashing into it full dressed and snores away 2 seconds later, Kon only falls asleep when the sun rose.
Dick’s phone laying idle on the kitchen table as Wally, Kori and himself are sitting around the table playing uno and drinking wine.
Whenever there’s even a hint of there being a notification, Dick instantly checks it, letting his eyes quickly scan the message before effortlessly reentering the conversations and game.
“You working on something D?” Wally finally ends up asking, as it’s now the 10th time in the same game Dick has checked his phone.
“Nah, that’s why we got together, so we could hang out and do nothing for once.” He lays down a +4, stopping Kori’s victory, much to her annoyance, flicking a grape at his face, which he catches and pops in his mouth.
“What’s with your phone freaking out every second then?” It was Wally’s turn again and he flicks through his cards as Dick tilts his head at him.
“It’s Jason’s heart monitor in his suit. If it goes too much above his regular average I’ll get a notification and his whereabouts, if he doesn’t send a signal within 5 seconds it’ll send an alert on all systems. I’m just keeping an eye on it. Uno!”
Wally nearly dropped his wine glass. “Dude what the fuck are you talking about?”
“What? I don’t check yours all the time, only if you’re on missions. It’s your turn.”
“Take 2 cards Wally,” Kori simply said, obviously much more focused on the game.
