Trump appoints Sam Brownback as ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom
Trump also quietly announced Wednesday that he nominated Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback to become the new ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom.
The ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom heads up the Office of International Religious Freedom, whose mission is to promote “religious freedom as a core objective of U.S. foreign policy.”
According to the office, it monitors religious persecution and discrimination worldwide, recommends and implements policies in respective regions or countries and develops programs to promote religious freedom. Read more (7/26/17)

Congressional Republicans are so lazy and opposed to the whole idea of doing their job, that 1/4 of our embassies have no ambassador because they insist their goal of thwarting the President for petty partisan gain trumps all other considerations, including sending an Ambassador to Russia. When they scream about how upset they are about events in Ukraine, they are lying. If they did care, they wouldn't be harming our ability to do anything by refusing to even consider appointing an ambassador.
