Abatwa (20-Point Quality)
Art by teamoth on Deviantart The Abatwa supernatural beings are quite possibly the smallest in the world, appearing as normal humans only a few inches in height. They live in the wilds of the world foraging and hunting on the backs of special ants they raise as mounts. They are fierce warriors and hunters--proud to a fault even, but very insecure about their height. Because of their small stature and ability to be slain by just about everything out there, they are rightly feared.
The popular story about the Abatwa is that upon seeing one, they will ask you "From how far away did you spot me?" If one answers "I am seeing you know for the first time" they may shoot you with their poisonous arrows or stab you with poisoned spears. So, it is best to flatter them. They usually hide behind glamours, only appearing to sorcerers, pregnant women, and children under the age of four.
Abatwa is the Zulu name for these beings, but similar creatures are found in different parts of the continent under the names Ijimere among others. Abatwa are very small in size, only about an inch tall. This means they weight 1/1000th their normal size weight, and they have reduced damage of 1/50th from falls, as well as dealing only 1/50th normal damage with their attacks. They have 1/10th the normal amount of life points due to their size. However, ranged attacks against them are at -8, and close combat attacks against them are at -5. They have a +12 to their Stealth checks and a +5 to hit normally sized beings.
They are an honest, honorable people (Honorable, Minimal) who are compelled to protect the natural world from those who do not respect it (Fairy Compulsion). Like most supernatural beings, they are innately magical and regenerate their Constitution score each Hour. They receive a +1 to both Constitution and Dexterity, as their lives are hard and only the swift survive. They have the Glamour ability as well as Fairy Veil to hide further from predators and enemies. The Abatwa are said to have been created from the tears of the nature god Vash'Nok, and are thus deeply tied to the natural world. They receive Animal Communication as well as their ability to construct poisons magically from this connection. When a Abatwa wishes to construct an original poison or mimic an existing one, they roll Intelligence + Physician (or Doctor) + Innate Magic. The concoction has a Strength equal to the Success Levels of the role. The attribute damage done is usually equal to their Willpower and the effects last 1 day per level of Intelligence. This poison may be a debilitating poison (attacks Strength), a paralytic agent (attacks Dexterity), or a Neurotoxin (attacks Constitution)
For 3 points, an Abatwa may have a loyal Ant steed as a mount (or rather, a family of Ants, as workers live about 3 months). This creature acts like a hero's Loyal Steed, doing what it can to aid its boss. It's an ugly, hairy creature--but it's also huge--over 3 inches long. these magical ants have wings and can fly with their rider rather well. These ants have stingers and can spray formic acid at enemies at a range of 5ft.
Like the Abatwa, they have to watch out for Spiders, Mice, and other predators that feed on small animals.
