And another thing! (Not shutting up about the Expanse)
It's a story about doing the right thing, trying your best to do the right thing. To do what you can where you can and for who you can. It's also about the obligations of a government to its people, the role of information and the media, what and when do the people of a government deserve, and how do they access, that information? And I dunno, I just find that a really timely kind of sci Fi conversation, as an American citizen who happens to be in an out group (queer, trans, apparently a political radical for thinking people deserve food and shelter and healthcare)
I've seen the first four seasons, and I'm almost caught up to there so I can finish the show for the first time. And I've read the first seven books, planning to finish them this time around. I'm curious how it ends with all the set up I've loved for all these years.
It's science fiction in my favorite form, as much fantasy as science, interrogating what it means to be a human on the galactic scale.

I'm watching "Nemesis Games", the season five finale for The Expanse, and when Bull said "I'll do it for Fred" I hollered because that was the first time he really was Bull de Baca.
the expanse is so goddamn good i just read the chapter when holden touches that column inside the ring station and 🤯
I know his heart’s in the right place and he’s much better in s4 but damn Ashford really shot Grigori in front of full view of everyone and there was basically no consequences.
The Ring Builders
I’ve only watched the show so far but am planning to read the books and had a question I’m hoping someone can answer. Are we ever going to find out more about the Ring Builders? Does anyone know what James’ inspiration was for them? It occurred to me that the Rings and their dead creators reminded me of Stargate and the Ancients. Does anyone else see the similarities?
