What I have found interesting so far in The Queen: Her Life is that prior to Edward VIII’s abdication of the throne on December 10th-11th, 1936 for Wallis Simpson, he spent a lot of time playing with his nieces Princess (later Queen) Elizabeth and Princess Margaret at their home and spending time with their father his brother Albert/Bertie (the future King George VI) and that after he became involved with her, he stopped coming around as often as he did. Obviously, I haven’t finished it as I barely started but I wanted to share this as the first few couple of pages start with the events prior and leading up to the abdication which ultimately changed the course of history for not only Bertie but Lilibet too. Once I’m done, I’ll give you guys a full post about my thoughts. @__w.e______ #dukeofwindsor #duchessofwindsor #abdicationcrisis #abdicationofkingedwardviii #kingedwardviii #wallissimpson #kinggeorgevi #princessmargaret #princesselizabethofyork #queenelizabethii #ukroyalfamily #ukroyals #britishroyalfamily https://www.instagram.com/p/CnStCBePtii/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
