why ruin what works
people taking kevin’s “if you tell him to submit, he will” at face value and not seeing that tsc is about literally proving the opposite,,, like how can you read the books and not see that jean is naturally very demanding and does not like being told what to do and he’s very quick to refuse AND his very first instinct is to fight. how can you not understand that kevin’s words are not about who jean is but what the nest made him out to be? that it took everything in jean to “submit” just to survive? because he did fight. for five whole months. but it brought nothing but more pain.
one of my fav things about jeremy is that he unabashedly lets everyone know that he fucks. this convo did not call for this little detail at all. no wonder andrew went running back to renee to be like girl he’s gay as hell

the way Crowley tried himself in a “God’s position” with his plants, but eventually he’d notice some of them are “not perfect”, and he’d give them up to a nice neighbour lady for the retirement. Maybe, he was trying to answer questions that kept bothering him for ages deep inside, or maybe he didn’t have what it takes - to keep them bottled up in that concrete apartment with a fear and without a chance for a freedom.
By season 2 he’s lost everything but his car and plants.
By season 3 he’s left with the last plant that gets to be babysat by a nice lady when Crowley’s trying to rescue his car back.
He just proved that he’s kinder than God, but he’s still got no meaningful answers.
At least they didn’t turn into flowers at the end.

neil josten truly is the character of all time. hes the narrator. hes lying to his teammates/ friends. hes lying to his coach. hes lying to his boyfriend. hes lying to the readers. hes lying to nora herself. yet somehow by the end of his trilogy we know exactly who he is as a person. we see him again in tsc and tgr through someone else's pov and we immediately go "ah yes thats exactly how he would act". unmatched.
