Last 3 days have been the most fast-paced days of my life, where I managed to squeeze in some reading time and finish this duology, its named The Carls 🤖 . What is it about? The first book, An Absolutely Remarkable thing introduces us to our main characters namely April May, Maya, Andy and Miranda and yes, The Carl. Andy, Maya and April are college mates who are working on their art degree and one fine day they encounter this very huge robot like samurai statue right in the middle of their city. The first book basically involves them hunting to find out more about it, what exactly is its purpose? That's the main plot. The book focuses mainly on April as she is the one who makes a video regarding this statues along with her friend andy and gets suddenly internet famous. . It delivers some intriguing comments on social media hate, power over people, religion and politics, science and technology and how fame and in the wrong hands can be devastating. April is a very flawed, least empathetic character but her actions, her mind is the most human I've ever read. Even though she kept making wrong decisions, I was rooting for her. And also, she is a bisexual character. . My thoughts: So, I initially dnfed the first book twice in 2019, but something led me back to it, this year and I did finished it. I liked it and well it has a cliffhanger. But, but the Second book!!!!! It just blew me away. It was fast paced and has many plot lines going on.
