Malo-Suavecito

Today I unexpectedly discovered that my all-time favorite song, "Suavecito" (AKA the Chicano anthem) was co-written by a Filipino! Composer/Arranger/Vocalist/Guitarist ABEL ZARATE wrote the music with bassist Pablo Tellez, while the lyrics were by vocalist Richard Bean. The three of them, along with Jorge Santana (Carlos Santana's younger brother who passed away in May of this year) were original members of the legendary Chicano rock group, Malo.
