   No matter how many mistakes have been made, Lord, you Love me the same. In spite of my Past your Word tells me that if I Believe with my Heart that Christ came to Save me, I am Justified! And, that if with my Mouth I Confess that Jesus is Your Son, that with this confession I am Saved. Thank you, God, for your Overwhelming Love and Faithfulness. Thank you, Lord, for looking past my transgressions and continuing to extend Grace, Love, and Mercy to one as Undeserving as me. Through your Word, I have come to see that no Sinner becomes Sanctified because of Works and Works alone. Instead, it is because of Faith: being Justified because of what I believe in my Heart and Saved by the Confession of my Mouth that I am Saved! I give you Thanks because of this, Lord. Because of your Word and your Love I am able to strive to be better each day. And, while I may still fall and make mistakes, for no one is Immune to Sin, I know that these things cannot Stall my Salvation for when I call out for Forgiveness I can rise again, Redeemed. Amen.

I love you. I need you to know that, to understand. I'm so, so sorry. For everything. I know this may be scary, and I know it's hard, but I also know you are so very strong Henry. My little prince. My saviour.

         I've made mistakes. You know that. I've been so close to falling, I could see the edge Henry. You... You always pulled me back. When I adopted you, you became my everything. My entire world.

   I knew that day, the day you got the book... I knew something had changed. I could feel you pull away, distancing yourself from me and I admit, not to hurt you but because I need you to know... It hurt Henry. It hurt, but I still loved you. As I do now. As I always will.

    Do you remember when you were six? There was a thunderstorm, and you ran in to my bedroom, terrified? I pulled you on to my lap and we hid under the blankets. You told me a story, and I sang you to sleep? That was me. Not The Queen, not The Mayor. Me. 

    You were then, and will always be, my son. As I am your mother. Nothing anyone says can change that, not for me.

Henry appeared in the doorway of her room, a white box in his hand. "Hey, Mom-" He called gently to get her attention. "Remember when we met?" He smiled, coming over and sitting on her bed. "That was your birthday, too." He'd waited till he got close. Sneaky. Now she couldn't get away as he pushed the box aside and gave her a pouncing hug.

There was a small sound of laughter as she saw her son coming towards her box in hand, what the hell was he up to? Some new operation? "Of course I remember when we met, you basically blackmailed me." Pausing she watched him for a second - "Today's my birthday? I hadn't noticed -- what are you up to?" Curiously she was knocked back by the hug - yet laughing she pulled him into the warmest embrace and pressed a kiss to the top of his head. "What's up with you buddy? Hmmm?"

I don't care about Regina hurting children. Children are just mini people. Everyone she, or Rumpel hurts is a person and a life and counts. :c Though I also think they do lay the victim playing on her quite badly. But it's happening with Rumpel too, now. The whole 'Oh if only daddy loved me.' But to be fair, it's Once. They do that with 9/10 villains given the screentime. It's always someone else's (usually parents') fault. No responsibility. XD

Yeah, but Rumple has never raped anyone either, and the argument was made that she did it more. Honestly, the overall argument is that people have different reasons for hating a character or liking another character far more, and those reasons are always personal. For many people, they hate Rum for killing Milah or for what he did to Regina. For others, they hate Regina for raping Graham, continuously blaming other people for their own choices, or [insert whatever else here].

Second, no, I don't think the show is doing that with Rumpelstiltskin right now because, at the core of his character, he always lays the blame on himself. He rightly realizes that many of the things he goes through are his own fault, because he made the wrong choice, and he constantly views people through that standard. Regina is evil because of his machinations and because of the choices she herself made, Cora is evil because of the choices she made, etc. And he hates himself for it, which is one reason I prefer him over Regina who constantly goes, "But it's not my fault; I was the hero! Snow made me evil, etc." Every interaction with his own father and how he views himself is seen through that lens and, if you read Adam and Eddy's comments on him, they say the same thing, "Rumple has always chosen power over love" or "this is actually the first time he does something selfless," etc. 

Not to mention that 99% of Rumple's fanbase agrees that he is, and I quote, a "cold-blooded son of a bitch."

So yeah, there is a very fundamental difference on how both characters are being written. Because, while Regina blames Snow in proxy of Cora for what happened to her, whenever Rum talks about his father, it's to say, "he abandoned me" and "I'm just like him, maybe even worse; no one will ever love me, and I deserve it."
