‘YOU THINK THAT might be just a little too much coffee to go with your sugar, there, Parker?’ @abetterthief
21 . a kiss on the cheek. (way in the future for them but yknow, cute.)
a time traveling kiss from the future. ♡
it was just the two of them... and it was never just the two of them. his apartment had practically become an unofficial hang out spot and crash pad. not to mention mission headquarters. no longer the safe haven of solitude he’d designed it to be. now it was full of life again, and he’d found himself genuinely enjoying it. how long had he forced himself to go it alone? he’d forgotten that he thrived with a team. considering only he and parker were currently the only ones in occupancy, he can’t help but raise an eyebrow when she settles on the arm of his chair. more than enough seating available scattered around the dimly lit living room.
❝ hey, you ---- ❞ he chances a soft hand at her lower back, waits for her to telegraph her response. makes sure she won’t tense before starting to idly rub small circles. ❝ you wanna watch that movie you were talking about? ❞ the invitation is issued lightly, more trying to figure out what her angle might be, but he’d be willing to follow through if needed. he’d barely gotten the question before she was shifting to drop herself into his lap. a confused chuckle is knocked out of him. ❝ -- parker? ❞ he questions but that doesn’t stop his hands from roaming her sides, to stabilize her as she turns back to face him with a mysterious grin. he was usually pretty good at reading people. not her, not consistently anyway. ❝ i’ll take that as a yes. ❞ he grabs up the remote and makes quick work of putting on the film, feeling her eyes explore his features. ❝ you’re going to miss the beginning, ❞ he turns and offers her a playful wink before leaning to grace her cheek with a light kiss.
———— @abetterthief asked / “why did you do that to us . . . to me?”
IRASCIBLE SOUL ! fury in his steps as he rounds the corner of the conference table, showing her only his turned back. ❝ i didn’t do anything TO anybody, parker, i —— you’re making this into something —— I make the plans, alright, I can see the big picture. and from my —— I knew we could do it. FOR OUR CLIENTS. i did it for them. not to you. ❞
a pause as he intends to drink ; coke can with the tab ripped off is halfway to his lips before he pauses, turns. trembling index finger raises, points directly at her, accusatory. ❝ you know, maybe that’s your problem. ALL OF YOU, you —— you think you’re the most important factor, the only factor. you’re still so used to only caring about yourselves, a thief’s mindset, i know how you think. and you —— but OUR CLIENTS have to be considered. alright ? we don’t walk away just because it gets hard. we don’t abandon them. ❞
❝ --- stealin’ stuff is always a good skill set to have, sure does come in handy as all get out when the you-know-what hits the fan. it true what they say about you, did ya really take on a steranko?❞ // @abetterthief (random starter bc i luv u)
it’s a temporary set up, not as good as their last place, but at least the internet connection was better -- so he didn’t have to listen to so much complaining. ❝ hey, can i get you to take a look at this with me?❞ steve gestures to the various maps he’s got spread out on an beaten-up old card table. ❝ -- could use a second set of eyes. ❞ // @abetterthief (plotted-ish starter)
‘ parker! ‘ her name curls off his tongue with a bite. she was taking an unnecessary risk & eliot could see the human car-crash about to unfold. he was a step too far back to keep it from happening, but not so far that she’d be in any danger if the mark’s secretary did ID her. there was always a chance the old woman with bottle-neck glasses wouldn’t remember the blonde waitress from a few days ago, but if she did, they’d be burned & the last two weeks of work would be smoke on the wind. - say, you look familiar. - he’s at parker’s side in that moment, painting on a sickeningly sweet smile for the secretary as his arm slides comfortably around the impetuous thief’s slim waist. ‘ oh, don’t you know it! my mary grace just has one of those faces. cute as a georgia peach this one. ‘ he has no idea what he’s doing & he’s all too aware of hardison sputtering over the com, but seeing their sleeze-bag mark from this close made his stomach turn. he had no regrets positioning himself close enough to get between the guy & parker in a blink. women had been disappearing, rich women & their money, with this guy was the last one to see them alive, but there were never any charges filed against him, aside from a few witness statements the cops seemed to give the guy a wide berth. some of those women had been married, had families, so eliot inserting himself into the con on the fly wasn’t going to sink them by default, in fact, if the way the man was practically eating parker with his eyes was any indication, her being spoken for had only lit the dudes fire. ‘ sorry I missed the introductions, private planes were low-priority to taxi because of the air show. name’s gus, ‘ the last name of parker’s alias is a blank space in his head until hardison shouts it. ‘ hayword. gus hayword. ‘
lifebuzz(.)com/10-lessons-from-navy-seal — Reminds me of you. Partly 'cause I can see you punching a shark in the face.
Maybe I have and maybe I haven't. But he sounds like a smart guy and he has my respect. Like he says "There are a lot of sharks in the world. If you hope to complete the swim you will have to deal with them. So, if you want to change the world, don’t back down from the sharks."
poke… poke… poke…
..... don't DO that!
