It was obvious to see that Abigail Hobbs was broken. Her eyes told it all, for there was a certain gleam of sadness which sat beneath the surface that was not ordinarily found in people so young. But out of trauma, many things change. And she was a victim, now. She was a survivor.

Only a few days beforehand had she awoken out of her medically-induced coma; and, even though the doctors insisted that she was fine, Will Graham was anxious to see her. Having spent countless nights sleeping in her hospital room, he had grown closer to the girl than he did with most people. Abigail Hobbs seemed to be part of his family, now, and he felt himself a surrogate father for the unfortunate teen.

Stepping out of the elevator, Will strolled down white-tiled hallway until he arrived at the last door to the left, Room 312. Abigail's room. Now, suddenly, peering from the open doorway into the room where she so peacefully lay sleeping, hesitance surrounded him. What did he expect this to be like? What should he say to her? Doubts clouded his mind, and he averted his gaze from her sleeping self for a moment.
