Why do u think batman seems to be more popular a character then superman (if u think he is, I do but I also don't actually the comics) I wanna say it's the batman animated series but superman he had his own that were also popular.
If I’m being 100% honest it’s probably mostly just to do with the Cool Factor, but also the fact that the sort of threats Batman deals with are things we actually might run into, like petty thieves and robbers, organized crime, abusers, corrupt police, crazed spree killers, rich old people who think they’re entitled to rule the world by merit of being rich and old, and pretty much all forms of the powerful exploiting the little guy. Superman and Wonder Woman are the other two most popular heroes in the DC Trinity (and I’d argue they’re all equally popular in their own way) and they both kinda have their lives together, while Batman’s whole life is basically coping with the loss and grief he’s felt by trying to take on the cruelty of the world head-on, and all of that really resonates with people. People continue to like Batman because sometimes the world takes things from you whether you like it or not, and it makes you feel powerless, but the thesis statement of Batman tells them that when this happens, you might not be able to get back what you lost but you still always have the power to try and build a better world to prevent others from having to go through what you did. I think that’s a pretty universal message of hope that’s unique to Batman and I think that’s why he’s continued to resonate with a wide audience in a way that other heroes don’t always.
