He was planning to report to Akira about the results of the expedition when he saw another touken danshi preparing some tea and snacks for the Saniwa. He ended up offering himself to bring them to his Master.

( Memory, Haunting, and Experience for the headcanon meme? )

Memory

      Having burned down along with Honnouji and his Masters, Fudou has      lost a good portion of his memories. However, his memories about how      he was handed down to Ranmaru and how the incident had transpired      remain intact. 

Haunting

      That being said, with how his memories of the incident that took the lives of      his Masters are intact, they often haunt him up to this day. It usually gets      worse the closer it is to early morning, that’s why Fudou doesn’t prefer       staying awake overnight, and would usually drink more in hopes to knock      himself out until morning. Though in the instance where he’s unable to sleep,      Fudou would rather walk around the Citadel than staying in one place.      Maybe find himself someone to talk to.

Experience

      Despite saying how he’s useless all the time, he would usually sneak in some      practice by himself. During his time with Oda, he realized that the other blades      in the Lord’s possession are more accomplished than he is, and he refuses      to get left behind, this feeling remained in his current selves, so sometimes      he’d just get the urge to practice, and he doesn’t really slack off during sorties      despite being drunk. He feels like he needs to catch up on all of those      experiences in the battlefield so he can be a little useful.

♏️ What does your muse look for in a friend? 

      Trust is an important aspect, of course. He wants someone he can trust,      someone who would tolerate his tantrums, and if possible, guide him down      the path. He’s currently very confused, but he knows that he’s mistaken.       What he doesn’t know is how to stop himself from repeating the same       mistakes, and he wants someone who can tell him what to do.

      He also knows that it’s probably impossible for him to find someone like that,      so he doesn’t really make any effort in searching for one.

☯️ What is the biggest obstacle facing your muse currently? 

      That would be his past failures. Him failing to save both of his masters during      the Honnouji Incident, failing to return the affection he’d received as the Lord’s      prized possession, those memories haunt him even now. He drinks to forget,      but the moment the alcohol wears off, the fear of losing everything once again      hits him like a wave, and he would drink more. This results in his constant      drunken state.
