Why organise the exchange again if you say it wasnt a great experience last time? Just an honest question😅

oh no its a very valid question dont worry!

While it was a pain in the ass at times and I felt like a few people got angry at me/didnt approve of the way i ran it, its also a really fun way to get a lot of ABO content and a lot of fics, and its a fun way for writers in this fandom to interact, and also get a gift in return!

2021 ABO fic exchange!

Hello lovelies! As announced earlier I'll be running a ABO fic exchange again! I loved running it last year and it resulted in 17 (!!) ABO fics posted in one day!

FAQ

Sign-ups are open until the 15th of November

Assignments are due January 15th (2 months to write, keeping in mind December is a busy month for most)

Fics will be revealed January 20th

Fics are to be between 1500 and 10.000 words to keep things more or less fair.

Please have at least 1 fic on your qo3 when enrolling, or hours with a message to confirm your enrolment! This is just for me to make sure there isn't any spam, and that everyone has the intent and ability to finish the assignment.

I'm not sure.

I would do it but only if people are excited for it cos it was quite a lot of work last year ssksk

It's quite stressful but in a good way but I'm not going to do if people don't want to do it anyway lol

Just send out the assignments for the A/B/O exchange! I really hope you are all at least a little bit satisfied, I tried my best to match everyone in the best way possible but it wasnt easy!

Some notes:

Fics are to be 1500 words minimum, 10.000 words maximum

Deadline: January 15th 2021

At this point dropping out of exchanges is so common that it might be a good idea if people who run them share usernames of repeat offenders so they can ban them from future ones :( I'm sorry that this is happening to you Robyn

Yeah maybe but then again i think they deserve the benefit of the doubt because you never know what is going on in people's life. Its frustrating, especially since its after the deadline already, but I can better just deal with it and move on sksk

I guess it's part of exchange running almost every time but not sure i will run another one tbh, or I'll need someone to help organise it so I'm not all alone in this. I think it went pretty okay last year, also dont remember dropouts but then again this time its twice as many people sjsjs

So idk it's all just a mess and frustrating but at the end of the day we are getting 32 abo fics so we vibe skskks

Im also very curious about the exchange: do you like get a theme? Or how much do you have to write ? Do you write everyday? Is it like gifting fanfics? I’m so sorry for asking maybe obvious questions but I’d love to get to know more about it ! - IttwuH ❤️

No problem!

Basically you fill in a request form and a form on what you would want to write. Then you get matched up with a request from someone that fits your preferences (eg: person A gets person B's request to write, Person B gets person T's request to write) until everyone has one assignment (and will therefore get 1 gift in return). The requests differ is details and how specific they are, but usually you would get a few ideas or prompts opted by the person you are writing for that you can choose from

-> there is no true theme to the whole exchange except "ABO" so prompts will probably be different (eg smut or not/AU or not)

So its 1 fic, and it is basically like gifting fanfics in a way! the gifting part goes automatically through the ao3 system too.

As for how much: normally the minimum amount of words is about 1000 - just to be sure everyone gets a solid gift.
