prompt - pheromones

The change was subtle enough, gradual, like the changing of the seasons. But it happened all the same, this slight shift in Shiro’s scent, the familiar warmer notes coming back as the last vestiges of the acrid scent of his anxiety fell away, the ice of winter melting away.

Sure, it had been incredibly disorienting to wake that morning to two Shiros in his bed, and yeah, it had taken a lot of talking through an all sides to convince everyone involved that this was in fact happening for reasons beyond them, but both Shiros seemed to indeed be Shiro, so as far as Keith was concerned, there was no reason to be alarmed.

At first, Severus wasn’t certain what had woken him. He felt no panic as though he were waking from a night terror, nor did he get the sense that there were intruders. Save for, of course, the intruder in bed beside him. Splayed out over him, really. Severus had learned early on that Harry was a cuddler, awake or asleep, and tonight was no exception.
