Open Letter for Gifts & Exchanges

I am currently part of a few exchanges & such so I thought I’d write a letter for my preferences. 

Dear Gifter, 

I am not particularly picky, so even though this seems like a well curated lists of wants and do not wants, only the not wants are hard limits, the rest are go with the flow types. If you are unsure, just message me as a nonnie and i’ll get back to you ASAP. 

Preferred Pairings in order of preference: 

Derek/Stiles (Teen Wolf), 

Jack/Bitty (OMGCP), 

Arthur/Merlin (Merlin), 

Noah/Luke (ATWT), 

Sherlock/Watson (Sherlock Holmes -- versatile pairing)

Preferred Dynamic: 

Top/Alpha/Dom - Person on the left; 

Bottom/Omega/Sub - Person on the right. 

I don’t mind mouthy subs. I like subs to be mouthy or switches. 

Sherlock is the only pairing where I don’t actually care who is in which dynamic even though my preference is towards top!Sherlock, I’m totally cool reading bottom!Sherlock. 

I like ABO stories where one or both characters defy conventional stereotypes -- Omega character hates the stereotypes of his dynamic and fights for equality -- he might want to have his ass plowed but that doesn’t make him weak or simpering or stupid or any less capable than an Alpha. Or Alpha character hates the way omegas are treated and wants to make a difference. Or Alpha character hates that they are expected to provide when all they want to do is take care of their babies and partner. Or when an Omega is super defiant towards others but super pliant to their own Alpha -- and the Alpha likes that they are only pliant in private -- they will always take their Omega’s side in public whether or not they agree. 

Topping from the bottom is something I am totally into, especially considering my list of bottoms. LOL. This is why I like switches for subs and less “conventional” doms who realize that their sub needs to dom every once in a while and then it becomes a dom on dom type scenario.

I don’t mind stories with the roles reversed, but the above are my preferences. If I had to choose, I’d pick those preferences.

I like implied versatility. But I prefer to read explicit scenes with my preferred dynamic.

AUs - HP, Merlin, Fairytale, OMGCP, Roswell, Werewolves/other Supernatural, Grimm, sense8, etc, etc, etc - put the characters in the shows of other characters from a different verse or in a verse where they have different abilities or something. 

Xeno (teen wolf - alpha/beta shift)

BDSM - wax play, blood play, shibari, bondage, mild pain play, blindfolds, sensory deprivation

Mates - any kind of bond - marks, threads, words, strikes, writing, telepathy, playmating whatnot. Biting YES! Knotting YES! Breeding YES! -- can be in ABO verse as well.

My love for new betas on the show ended with Cora Hale. I’m good with Isaac, Erica, Boyd and Cora. I’m also ok with Kira. I’m okay with some degree of Malia but she needs to be handled well. 

Characterization

Unlike some people I’m not particularly bothered by OOCness. 

Shows like Teen Wolf aren’t consistent with their characterization at all. So when someone says this Stiles is so OOC, I’m like how the fuck would you know? The show did a piss poor job with continuity. For all we know, it could totally be IN CHARACTER. Yeah. I don’t like people preaching that “this is what a character should be like”.

People change based on their life and the way things happen to them.  If Stiles was popular -- he may not have been the sarcastic shit he is. If Derek didn’t lose his family he’d probably a lot less guilt ridden and somber. If Uther hadn’t banned and prosecuted those with Magic, Merlin and Arthur’s entire relationship would have been different. If Stiles had never met Scott, he may have been entirely different. 

AUs are up to the author. If someone thinks a character should behave a certain way based on their backstory in the AU, then they should act that way, fuck whatever canon said. 

Fandom has the right to rewrite and remold characters. If we can change their entire stories, or makeup events that happened to them, then we can change how we portray a character.

It’s all fiction. So you tell the story you want to tell. 

These are just my preferences, at the end of the day you need to enjoy what you write. I will love anything you give me. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it.
