Lucy Stone (1818-1893)

Stone was a feminist activist and abolitionist. She was the first woman in Massachusetts to obtain a college degree. After college she helped take immense leaps for both the feminist and abolitionist movements. Stone was also a published author and journalist as well as a orator. Not to mention she wore trousers in the 1800’s which was seen as taboo at the time.

We’re coming close to the end of March now...it’s quite bittersweet. Sweet because it’ll give me more free time, but bitter because I love doing this!

As of December 31, 2018, there have been some 41.9 million abortions performed in the course of the year. For every 33 live births, ten infants were aborted.

By contrast, 8.2 million people died from cancer in 2018, 5 million from smoking, and 1.7 million died of HIV/AIDS

ALL of this. I am not the same person i was when i went to bed on the 6th of October. I am forever changed, and rightly so. I have always been pretty far left, but my eyes have been truly opened to how deep and insidious the rot in our governements and society is, and to how deeply its engrained into the capitalism that rules us all.

Palestine has woken up the world and there is no going back. I truly believe that there is a change coming and the powers that be are running scared. I have never seen anything like this in all my 43 years of activism. This global movement is proving to the ruling class that it is people who hold the true power, and not them, and they are terrified of that. Why else are they so desperate to silence us? Alan Moore was right: people should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.

None of us are free until we are ALL free.

She’s the Alpha AND the Omega and proof that if there is a God - she’s a Black woman! @nichellenicholsofficial inspired us, me and @tony_puryear to create our graphic novel @concrete_park . This illustration by @tony_puryear will always be my favorite pic of Ms. Nichols. She’s saying our books motto, “The past is painful, the present precarious, but the future is free!” She played the iconic character ’Lt. Uhura’ on @startrek but did you know her name, Uhura means freedom? And that’s no accident. The #abolishionist and visionary #generoddenbury named her that ‘on purpose,’ planting seeds of a future to come IF we worked for it now! How are we doing? Idk…damn, the heavy issues we’re struggling with now Ms. Nichols sought, in her character and life’s work, to help guide us through then. We should’ve taken better notes. Will we ever get there? Again, idk, but I feel ordained by this wonderful woman to continue on the path a bit further. But now, look at her - uhm - so gorgeous! I’m smiling now. Heck, I’m lucky…I met her at San Diego Comic Con years ago and she was stunning. Beautiful, smart, kind, all smiles and so petite. All light, no shadows. Whoever thought she’d leave us. Not me. Nah, let me take that back, she’s not gone, she’s just been teleported to a higher dimension. And if the great #StevieWonder says, “They say that heaven is 10 billion light years away…”, perhaps for us to see her again we need only close our eyes and transport ourselves to the highest frequency in our hearts. And voila! There she’ll be again. Guiding our journey through the stars n’ …bars. Leading us to higher ground. Thank you 🙏. Godspeed to a true Queen, and mistress of the universe. Xo, e.
