The more I read and learn about the ways of patriarchy the more clear it is that abortion bans are the advance guard of patriarchal fascism...from medieval Ireland (as described in the great book by Mary Condren, The Serpent and the Goddess) to contemporary Muslim and Catholic patriarchal hells. My anthology Choice Words Writers on Abortion shows the same kinds of oppressive patterns in the literature of 6 centuries & 5 continents. Posting this poem in solidarity with our sisters in Texas, and all over the US, and all over the world!
