Cadejo 'Cade' - Cryptid of the Woods - He/It (Design by @/Morgombie)
Cade was your fairly average, broke, lowblood-cusp just looking to make some cash when he caught wind of some clinical trials that paid for volunteers. This, however, turned out to be far from a straightforward, above-board trial with little to no risk, and was in fact a setup designed to identify individuals with shifter or undead genes to experiment on and study.
By the time Cade realized what he'd gotten himself into, it was too late to escape. After being killed and subsequently tested on in fairly cruel and disturbing ways, it was eventually discovered that he could continue to change in an 'undead loop' of mutation for survival. Each time he had a near-death experience, he exhibited more undead and monstrous traits.
While interesting to study and observe, it was extremely damaging to his mental state, his mind often stuck in a state of survival and instinct over logic and emotion. His body would warp and split apart, body fluids turned tar black, and being around him became more dangerous in general. This led to him being held in a cell far away from others, the isolation not helping matters.
All of this ultimately culminated in certain people catching onto what this group was doing, and to stop their information from being taken while protecting themselves from repercussions, they abandoned the place in a hurry, taking everything of value and killing off most of the subjects present... except Cade.
These nights, he wanders the broken-down and empty facility, along with the nearby wooded area, surviving like a wild animal. Trolls that see him are either scared shitless and start telling monster stories, or don't live to tell such a tale. Despite this, it's been discovered and managed to safely interact with one Fonosc at least a couple of times!
