Verdant Wind
Sylvain transferred to the house because he wanted to get closer to Byleth. Ends up falling in love with her but becomes unrequited because Byleth happily ends up with Claude.
Azure Moon
Sylvain is shocked to see him being reincarnated with memories of his previous life. He's even shocked to see Byleth teaching the Blue Lions house. He's happy because maybe, maybe, this time he has a shot to live a happy life with her.
But in the end, Byleth falls in love with Dimitri.
Crimson Flower
Out of heartbreak and unable to relive the pain all over again, Sylvain decides to not join the Black Eagles house where Byleth now teaches. This only backfires horribly when Byleth revolts against the church and betrays the rest that aren't on Edelgard's side.
5 years laters, they reunited at Gronder Field on a gloomy, rainy night. Sylvain feels furious, betrayed, disgusted, heartbroken -- and worst, relieved -- to see her *alive*. He hates that he has missed her all this time. He hates that he is still in love with her. But betrayal claws in deep into Sylvain's heart, so he opts to end her with his own lance in vain hope that this unbearable agony will die with her.
He dies by her sword. The last thing Sylvain remembers is the sight of her emotionless face blurred by thick tears.
Silver Snow
Relieving all his memories, Sylvain has had enough and decides to follow her wherever she is--even if it means betraying his own kingdom. He knows she will never reciprocate his feelings. He knows he will end up feeling rejected. He knows he is forced to see her happy with another person again.
But all that are bearable if it means never seeing such ignorant indifference for him in her eyes ever again.
He is willing to have his heart broken again if it means he has a chance to stay by her side for the shortest of time.
But this time, finally...finally...to his ultimate shock and unspeakable joy, Byleth returns his feelings. After so many years, so many days, so many hours and minutes of living without her, she has finally fallen in love with him.
No words can describe his happiness. All this time, she has made him happy. Her presence alone both tortured and motivated him. She is his light. His soul. And to know she is in love with him in this life, Sylvain vows here and now that he will dedicate his everything to make her the happiest woman for the many lives to come.
For the first time in his life, Sylvain cries for a whole different reason.
