Geralt and Ciri are traveling to Kaer Morhen when they hear about how the Nilfgaardian’s army attacked Oxenfurt.

Geralt doesn’t know what happened to his Bard after he left him on the Mountain so many - too many - months ago but he’s sure he went back to Oxenfurt, because he always did when they splitted up in winter.

He has nightmares about Jaskier for weeks - him being captured, tortured, dead - and calls out his name all the night until Ciri, after another sleepness night, asks who’s this man he’s dreaming of.

And he has to explain a lot of things, first of all his feelings.

thank you so much! i really like that one lmao and i think some more may follow because sometimes just can’t help myself and get bitter and go on a rant in fic form. and well, jaskier is a very grateful character in that way, i can make him rant to high heavens and it’s still in character

Different Reunion!AU.

So...

Everything is the same except of this: Geralt goes to save Jaskier is not in the prison - or Oxenfurt if that matters - anymore.

Geralt wants to find him, spends every little minute he can trying to find out what happened to his friend but he can't wait anymore, not well Yennefer has taken his Child Surprise to do Melitele knows what.

So, with his heart broken and worried, Geralt travels until he finds them again and what happens next it's what happens in the canon.

Ciri is safely at Kaer Morhen with Yennefer when Geralt decides to leave to find Jaskier.

It's still not safe to travel with her and Yennefer is still recovering after her powers are back but she's able to open a portal to Oxenfurt again (yeah, even if Geralt hates portals, it's the safest and easy way to search for his bard).

There, Geralt asks everyone, in every tavern, every littl shop of lutes, he asks even on Jaskier's university, everywhere he could think of to find out what happened to Julian.

After a few hours, Geralt finally discovers that Jaskier was released from the prison a few days back just to be taken away from a group of unknown soldiers and Geralt understands immediately that Jaskier was kidnapped because of him.

And while he's panicking trying to breath and think of what to do next, someone almost rapid as him knocks him off on the ground.

When Geralt wakes up, the only thing he can hear from his cell, it's a voice a few rooms above from where he is, screaming all his lungs out in a heartbreaking pain: Jaskier is being tortured.

And he has to listen.

Jaskier being tortured /but/ still loyal to Geralt, after what he did to him or after all the pain he felt (both with the torture and Geralt's words), touched me.

It was one of my headcanon and Jaskier's loyalty being confirmed was just one of the best thing in S2.

A little edit I worked on today 🌼🌼🌼

It's based on a "different reunion"!AU I thought of, where Geralt comes to save Jaskier when it's too late (because he's perfectly capable of escape from a prison alone, thank you very much).

Geralt finds him in the tavern, but Jaskier is just too busy with the elves operation and, moreover, he doesn't want to go with Geralt (he's mad as hell, you're welcome).

At least until Geralt hugs him saying "I need you" and Jaskier's resultion almost crumbles on his feet in a minute.

(Not really, in my mind Jaskier does go with Geralt just because he wants to help Ciri.) (He's still mad and heartbroken, yes.) (Geralt will have to work very hard to have back his bard.)

“Modern!AU sort of, where Jaskier and Geralt are not officially a couple but they are living and traveling together like in the show and one day they have a fight and Geralt says some mean things to Jaskier (… like in the show).”

Last time I said Jaskier and Geralt probably would have a spicy moment but to be honest it wasn't the right time! They need comfort (Jaskier even more) and so here's the family he chose ❤️

They are very protective but they also respect his desires so... they'll do what Jaskier wants to do, no matter what 🌼

And I think Jaskier feels lucky and protected, and he deserves it 🌸

What will happen? What they have in mind? We will see 👀👀
