"I think in the first season that definitely was his driving force, especially when you’ve got Theo, his potential real father there. I think in the second season, especially when he’s come back from Spain and he had his child, I think he’s come to grips with it. It’s that confrontation with Lucrezia...it’s then when he says to her, “We’re Borgia bastards,” and he’s accepted that. He knows that they all are. He is very secure in himself at that point I think."

STREETVIBE Feature Photos!

To those interested to have more in-depth look of photographs that were featured on my STREETVIBE video feature (which you can watch here), here are just a few of the shots that I was able to capture during the walk that we did for the shoot. All photos were taken around Downtown Manila, mostly at the Jones Bridge. We were lucky at that time because the bridge was closed down for people to appreciate it more. Also, it was the official grand opening of the newly refurbished Jones Bridge. I hope they do close the bridge more often for people.

"There are moments where [Juan] manipulates other people in a similar the way they’ve been manipulating him. The scene between Jeremy and myself with the dagger is a last ditch frantic attempt at trying to win [Rodrigo] over." Do you think Juan was genuine in the knife scene? Do you think he would have killed himself? "Yeah I think so. He always does what is true inside him...It wasn’t simply about the eventual confrontation, but all about the richness of this twisted family make-up."

“David is a really good swordfighter. He's been in a lot of period pieces, so I had to work really hard to look as good as him. I have to be a bit better than him in that scene, so I had to really go for it. It was really dangerous at one point, because we use heavy iron swords for filming. They're not sharp, but if you hit someone's head with them, they're going to die. Neil Jordan [the show's creator] at one point stopped us and said, "Okay, I just don't want you to kill each other." He was really scared. [laughs]” (x)

“I really like David. I was really impressed when I saw him at first because he is very confident and as an actor too and he was just off "Pillars of the Earth," in which he had done a lot of sword fighting and horseback riding, so I felt that he was way more ready than I was for that. I was like, "Oh shit I'm there all the time and I have a huge character and fuck, David did like all this stuff. I think he is a very like powerful young actor and fiery.”(x)

"Cesare profoundly believes that his brother is an idiot." (x)

"David Oakes is great. We were about the only ones who spent the whole time in Budapest. But yeah, I think there was a bit of a rivalry, but like really friendly rivalry." (x)

“You’ve got this boy. And he is a boy at that stage still. He’s confessing that he’s always been quite miserable and been quite harsh on himself. He’s given them every opportunity to change their mind and see him for what he is. He finally gets things in order. He finally starts to work well. He gets a whole siege together and it’s working. Then it all turns around because of Cesare. And he gets shot in the leg (laughs). How many times must he try to get something right before someone ruins it for him? He has the worst luck. He never gets the good break. But every now and then when he gets it right, he still gets it in the end. He does a successful siege. He loses. He apologizes to his brother and gives his heart to him. And he still gets stabbed and thrown off a bridge.”(x)
