Bio

Name: Kate Lyons Age: 37 Place of Birth: Townsville, Australia, Earth Race:  Human Gender: Female Hair: Brown Eyes: Green

Background:

Kate grew up on Arvuna despite being born on Earth. Her parents were both marine biologists based on what is left of the Great Barrier Reef but they moved to the main colony on Arvuna when she was 10 years old along with her sister and two younger brothers. It was a hard transition to move from the open skies of Earth to the shielded domes of Arvuna for a girl desperate to see the stars so as soon as she was able to, she joined the Alliance.

At 23, she was involved in a firefight that left her on the wrong side of a frag grenade and she lost part of her left arm as well as a number of other injuries.

Thankfully she was able to be reconstructed and after her recovery and discharge from the Alliance, she went into the field of cybernetics and prosthetics in the private sector. She is also well versed in human biotic ability, despite not being a biotic herself.

Currently she is on the SSV Berlin, assisting Commander Miller with the lab for the Ex-Cerberus Project Phoenix subjects and providing medical support to the crew.

Hey, Hannah, how's it going? I've got a random writing ask for you! Which one of your OCs gets themselves into the most trouble? What kind of trouble is it, usually? Do they typically need help digging themselves back out of it? Does it normally affect other characters or is it self contained?

Okay so who'd get in the most trouble... 🤔 I guess that depends on your definition of trouble. Kate has anger issues so she'd get in the most trouble spouting her mouth of, which ended up in divorce then her death in the end... she is horrible at asking for help but probably should be better at it but sadly never does.

Um, Jasmine gets in quite a bit of sexual trouble. It's hard to explain. It comes out in a really kinky, sexually open personality. She's very open about how naughty she is with everyone that isn't related to her.

Aaand the other one that came to mind was Winnifred for similar reasons as Kate only she's just snarky. She doesn't really get angry in the way Kate does. Or did.

10. What was the labor like and holding their child for the first time?

Kate stayed the last few weeks of her pregnancy with her parents, so Adam was actually born in Philadelphia, even though he never really lived there.

Kate, being a nurse, already knew how labor happened and what the hospital staff would be doing at any given moment, but she was still nervous. Could she really raise a kid on her own? What if he would just end up reminding her of John? What if she would end up recenting the kid? And it didn't help it that Adam was born almost a week before the estimated time, but the good side of it was that she didn't have quite so much time to worry.

She might have at least mentally curse John Winchester to the deepest part of Hell during the labor, but it all went away and lost its meaning when she got to hold him the first time. He was so small and innocent. He made adorable huffing noises and wrinkled his face as he yawned and she could tell that she would love him no matter what.

Questions:

1. Do you make playlists for your WIPs? For particular characters or for the story in general? I make both! I have a playlist for Sweet Dreams I’ll be posting here soon, and then an individual playlist for both main characters, Scarlet and and Derrick. I like to listen to the playlist of whoever’s POV I’m writing :P 2. Do you RP (or have you ever done so)? Ummm WHY? DO YOU WANT TO RP WITH ME???? Cause it’s not like a I have a whole board and world I made just to RP on but nobdy wants to RP with me....Seriously I love RPing. I haven’t since I was like 12 because I guess no one RP’s anymore? But my sis and I talk about it all the time, we make boards and characters and then never post because it’s only just us two and we have books to write. So...who wants to RP?? It’s a great way to avoid writing your WIP! 3. Have you ever written (or do you currently write) fanfiction? I have only ever writen one fanfiction and it was for The Last of Us, that part right between Summer and Fall right after *you know what* happens. I felt like there was a missing link between that and the next big event, so I filled in the gap and I swear it’s canon. 4. What’s your go-to writing snack? My pen! I can’t eat and write! I’d love to be able to though. 5. Do you have a favourite piece of writing advice you’ve given or been told? Don’t read any writing advice lol just write for god’s sake!!! You know what to do, it’s all within you. Remember who you are, Simba! 6. What’s your favourite font? Ooo you know the way to my heart!! It depends on the project because I like to pick a special font for the actually body text that feels right to me and then a chapter/title header text. I’m guilty of spending way too much timing choosing a font though. IT HAS TO FEEL RIGHT, OK?? 7. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve Googled recently for research? Ummm british grocery stores...? 8. Do you prefer to set your stories in real or fictional places? I like a mix of real and fictional, like it COULD exist but it doesn’t. 9. What’s one thing that you love about the creative process? I love the surprises. I feel like doing anything creative is like solving a mystery, you just kind of follow the clues and there ends up being so many twists and turns! That’s why I love writing because it’s just like reading except I’m the first person to ever hear the story!

10. What’s one thing you dislike about it? When I get too caught up in THINKING and perfectionism, it strangles the life right out of any project. It’s best to just do it, whatever it is, without thinking.

11. What kind of ending does your WIP have? A happy ending, duh! All my stuff has happy endings I think, because that’s my perspective on life.
