I redesigned my HTTYD oc, Toad, he’s a street rat who lived in the Northern Markets. He did odd jobs to get by as a small child, and often did things for Dragon Hunters, not really knowing about what they really did or why it was bad. Eventually, he was trusted enough to be let into the ship’s cargo, and found a dragon egg. Toad being Toad, stole it thinking he was gonna sell it for money, obviously, he was caught and got his scar escaping the dragon hunters, he hid in the woods and then stowed away on another trader ship to a less populated island, the egg hatched into a Nightfury named he named Ravengrace, he grew up with Raven as a feral child, before meeting the gang at sixteen in Race To The Edge, and is partially adopted by them, he’s like San from princess Monoke personality wise. After the gang go back to Berk, he stays on Dragon’s Edge to maintain it as a dragon sanctuary and be the main form of communication for Berk to berserkers, defenders of the wing, and the wingmaidens, while also keeping close contact with Hiccup and Berk. He considers Hiccup like an older brother to him. He’s also Filipino with immigrant parents who came to the island and passed away, leaving him orphaned there.

Here’s Ravengrace, she has pink spots from a genetic mutation at birth that compromises her camouflage.

I love your designs SM...I feel like even when people write disabled characters they never give them a unique/cute or creative sense of style. There's a whole world of incredible disabled fashion that is left out and disabled characters always have to be so serious!! Not to mention the lack of LGBT disabled characters in mainstream media. Thanks for what you do!

Thank you so much! Something about my characters ( designs and backstories ) is that I really truly see them as their own people. I try to think of them as if they were right in front of me, and I was talking to them about themselves. I want to make them feel REAL, if that makes sense. with this, I like to think about every aspect of them, ethnicity, race, style/fashion, background, story, culture, friendships, jobs/school, sexuality, gender, life experiences, disability, likes/dislikes, etc! I find it really fun and it really is just a beautiful game of "create a person", haha. I will continue to create the gayest most transgender and fashionably out-there original characters ever!
