★★ favorite moments with the Inquisition?

(I’m gonna do two fav moments for Serafinn)

“One of my favourite moments was being able to experience the Temple of Mythal. The architecture was breath-taking, and you could feel the history emanating through every hall and crevice. Performing the rituals made me feel closer to Mythal as well, which was an incredible feeling.”

“Another of my favourite moments, besides meeting and beginning my relationship with Dorian, was fighting my first dragon. It’s sometime I never thought I’d ever be doing, but also something I never thought I could do. Well, maybe after a few more decades of training. It was…quite exciting! Iron Bull hugged me after the battle.That may have been the tightest hug I’ve ever experienced. Dorian and Cassandra joined in shortly after. It was wonderful.”

Is there a headcanon reason as to why your handsome elves have mythal's vallaslin? What were they like back in their clan? :3

I haven’t come up with a reason for the mythal tats yet, which is a shame…I should!! (Really the only reason right now was cause I liked them the most when I was creating Serafinn, haha;; )

As for what they were like…

Serafinn was the Keeper’s First and a people-pleaser. He did whatever was asked of him to try to keep in everyone’s high standings…even if it stressed him out. And it almost always did. Serafinn was also kind of a keener and a goody-goody, especially compared to his brother.

Aramas, though older, felt like he was living in Serafinn’s shadow for many years. Once Serafinn started showing signs of being a Mage, he noticed a lot of the Clan paid more attention to that than to him. He was intensely jealous for a long time and had a pretty rough rebellious phase. Once he found his interest in blades and daggers, though, he started putting his effort into that, rather than acting out.

Spill it Serafinn! What is the most embarrassing thing that happened to you?

“The most embarrassing thing I can think of at the moment was the time I had…uh…stayed in bed with Dorian longer than intended. I ended up being late for a meeting at the war table and in my haste, incorrectly buttoned the vest I was wearing at the time, as well and forgot my scarf…which exposed the gratuitous amounts of…*ahem*…love bites…that happened to be there…I could tell my advisors were stifling their giggles.”

★Serafinn: Serafinn used to be a morning person until he became the Inquisitior. Now he’s forced to be a morning person, which just isn’t the same.

★Aramas: Aramas was a treasure hunter before joining the inquisition to help his younger brother. He collects rare blades from all over Thedas.

Sea/Ocean:

Serafinn: Growing up with his Clan, they mostly stayed to wooded areas or fields farther from water. He never really got to see the ocean until he joined the Inquisiton. His first experience out to the Storm Coast was one he’ll never forget. He stood and watched the waves crash on the shore for a long time, completely unable to tear his gaze away. Unfortunately, there was work to be done. But every night that they stayed in the Storm Coast the first time, he would stay up and watch the waves.

Aramas: Aramas left the Clan earlier than Serafinn. He wanted to head out on his own and one of the first places he headed for was a place that overlooked the sea. It was a windy day the first time he swam in the sea and the waves were enormous and powerful, but he didn’t care. Any time he passed by the ocean he went for a swim, no matter how bad the weather may have been. He didn’t know when he’d see it again, so why not take advantage of an opportunity like that?

New headcanon: Serafinn’s vallaslin now sometimes has a golden glow to it from drinking from the Well of Sorrows.

I have some questions from that ask meme for Serafinn: 1, 10 and 13! :D

Thanks for the ask!! (I had to think a little bit about these. Subject to change in the future, haha)

1. What foods do they love, and what foods do they refuse to eat?

Growing up, he wasn’t too picky of an eater, so he grew to like lots of different foods. There’s nothing he really hates. But he also isn’t a super big eater, eating mostly small meals or snacking throughout the day. So even if he’s eating something he doesn’t care for, at least he’s only eating a small portion.

Elfroot, of course, is a favourite. You can put it in and on everything, especially stews! Josephine has been kind enough to import various foods from all over Thedas, and Antivan might be Serafinn’s favourite cuisine overall.

Orlesian is sort of an acquired taste that Serafinn doesn’t care for. Nug is also a little too gamey for him.

10. What makes them feel safe or secure? What makes them feel insecure or unsafe?

Dorian, for sure, helps Serafinn feel safe and secure. Dorian is the easiest to talk to and helps keep him grounded when he’s too stressed.

Even when Dorian is away, he still feels comforted knowing Dorian is thinking of him. Though, months apart can be stress inducing.

Serafinn is also sometimes worried for the safety of his mother and the rest of his clan. He knows the Inquisition will do what they can to keep them all safe, but he knows danger can be looming around all corners. And neither he, nor his brother, are there to help if something happens.

13. What decision in their past did they most analyze and fret over after the fact?

Serafinn, for a while after being dubbed the Herald of Andraste, used to wonder about what would have happened had he not gone to the conclave. He would think about his life as the new Keeper and training new mages. He used to worry that he made a terrible mistake going to the conclave and getting mixed in this mess.

One of my HCs is that Dorian, before the two start dating, likes to stick flowers in Serafinn's hair when he's out in the courtyard. He's usually talking to someone, so he's distracted. Then he gets back to his chambers and realizes his hair is just filled with elfroot seedlings and tiny flowers. He knows who's responsible and decides to keep the plants, pressing them in the pages of his notebook (mostly on the pages related to Dorian). His notebook is nearly filled by the time they get to Skyhold. When he and Dorian start dating, he lets Dorian skim through some of it, kind of forgetting about the pressed plants, which occasionally fall out. Dorian is so surprised and flattered that Serafinn would keep that kind of stuff, but also realizes how full this notebook is.

(Since Inquisition takes place over a year, NiHnet pointed out that at some point they probably celebrate the Inquisitor’s birthday)

Dorian would get Serafinn a new notebook for his birthday. Serafinn had been meaning to just make himself a new one, and didn’t want to bother Josie to import something that seemed so trivial. He was also spending money to rebuild skyhold and keep things in working order, so a notebook felt like a waste. But he loves the new one. And Dorian even wrote a little love note at the end to give it that personal touch. He also pressed a couple flowers in some of the pages.

Replaying Serafinn's game from the beginning has inspired me to come up with some new headcanons. Serafinn has a journal that's only got a few entries in it by the time he gets to Haven. But he's always interested in learning new things, so his journal soon becomes his information note book, filled with facts about red lyrium, the friends of Red Jenny, the Circle, The Qun, the Imperium. There are also some pages about Hawke, which contain little doodles of what he thinks Gavin Hawke looks like. They're not very good, but Varric thinks Hawke would be happy to see them one day. After they deal with Alexius, Serafinn starts asking Dorian about his life and time magic and what the Imperium is really like, since he's only heard overblown stories. Dorian is filled to the brim with information. But everything he brings up raises more questions. Suddenly these chats are turning into hours and hours and note taking sessions. Sometimes they go so long they end up sitting in the Tavern or in Serafinn's cabin. For every question Serafinn has about Dorian, Dorian has a question about the Dalish, since he really knows nothing about them. Sometimes Serafinn will end up sitting by the fire with Varric to hear stories of Hawke, or sit in the door of Bull's tent to learn more about the Chargers. The advisors are handling the war table missions more on their own right now, so he has much more time to get to know everyone. Soon his notebook is filling up. But when he starts going on missions in the Hinterlands and the Storm Coast, the note taking slows down and turns back into journaling, but even then it's inconsistent. Some of the pages in his book have doodles of the medallion Dorian gave him for his uniform. They also just have scribbly head shots of Dorian. AAAA I LOVE HAVEN.
