“What smells so burnt here?” Shaw sniffles in the air, slightly irritated by that unfamiliar scent from the kitchen.
“Aah, the eggs!!” With horror in your voice you instantly jump up from your seating on the couch, and running with high speed into the kitchen. Quickly, you turn off the oven and gather the cloth to bring the pot into the sink. Thick white steam has filled the kitchen and as you open the tap to let the water cool the searing pot, it sizzles and blubbers loudly.
With frantic moves you try to save from your boiled eggs what is there to be rescued. Luckily, the eggs aren’t really burnt, only the entire water was boiled away.
Then a hoarse chuckle is heard as Shaw steps behind you, taking your hand ins his larger ones to check for burns from your sudden action. “I didn’t expect to witness you ruin boiled eggs one day.” His voice is filled with teasing and amusement.
Full on embarrassed, you turn around to shove him at his shoulder. “Stop mocking me! I was only distracted!”
Then golden eyes settle on you, a small grin still decorating his lips. “Yeah? With what?”
That sets your face in full blaze as you are suddenly reminded for the cause of this whole incident. “Planning your birthday…” you nearly whisper, turning your head to avoid looking at him.
