What if when Sib disappears to find a cure for the calling, her search leads her to a forgotten, crumbling, walled city where she finds a pride/convocation of wild, untainted griffons???
Morrigan: One thing which makes me curious: did you encounter the Hero of Ferelden at Adamant Fortress?
Venka: Was the Hero of Ferelden a friend of yours?
Morrigan: We traveled together during the time she fought the Blight. I helped her, and she helped me. Indeed, without her, my son would never have been born. Regardless, did you see her?
Venka: I met no one by that title.
Morrigan: When the Champion of Kirkwall mentioned a Grey Warden ally, I assumed it would be she. It was, after all, just the sort of thing in which she would involve herself. But that rather begs the question: if the Hero of Ferelden was not at Adamant, where is she? My suggestion? Track her down. She could be a great aid against Corypheus... or a terrible foe to the Inquisition.
Venka: If you don't mind my asking, the Hero of Ferelden was a Circle mage—did you know her?
Cullen: I attended her Harrowing, actually. She was a lovely woman.
Venka: "Lovely"?
Cullen: There was some youthful infatuation on my part. I found her... compelling.
Venka: You never acted on it?
Cullen: She was one of my charges. Even if she felt the same, it would have been... inappropriate. I saw her once after she became a Warden. She freed the Tower during the Blight. I would be dead or mad if not for her. I was in a sorry state when she found me. The things I said were... unkind, untoward. I regret them now. I wish she knew that.
Is Sib a somniari like Solas or Feynriel?
She is a somniari but she isn’t fully in control of her powers yet. She doesn’t exactly know how she enters the Fade without lyrium, just that she ends up there sometimes ;)
What is Sib's opinion on the Chatry? Is she an andrastian?
Sib doesn’t care for the Chantry or its teachings. She reveres Andraste as a heroine who fought for freedom alongside her people, but not as a prophetess or the bride of the Chantry’s Maker. She believes the things that Andrastians claim as ‘divine’ can be explained by magic. In her eyes, the Chantry differs little from the Magisterium of her homeland—both are corrupt institutions that use their power more to oppress people than to help them.
What is Sib doing during Inquisition?
I’m not entirely sure since I’ve yet to finish an Inquisition play-through, but here are the ideas I had (before shifting my focus back to Skyrim) concerning Sib’s whereabouts: x x x x x
Have I ever mentioned the time when little Sib and Magister Cyril are stopped at an inn along the Imperial Highway, and Sib is wistfully eyeing a tray full of lemon cakes when the magister pulls out a plump bag of coin and convinces the serving girl to sell him the entire batch? Sib’s eyes go wide with surprise, not because she thinks the cakes are for her (who would waste such a hefty amount of coin on treats for a slave?) but rather because she never dreamed the elder mage would have such a ferocious appetite for sweets!
She’s standing behind the magister with her hands clasped and head bowed—the proper way for a slave to conduct herself while in the presence of her betters, according to her past owners—when the servant hurries back over carrying a tray filled with nearly two dozen of the delicious cakes. Sib’s mouth starts to water as the servant sets the tray down in front of her master. Even though it seems a lifetime has passed since she last had her favorite food, she can still taste the tart treat melting on her tongue as she chews. She watches from the corner of her eye as the magister selects one of the smaller cakes, lifting it up between long boney fingers as if the cake is as deplorable as a foul-smelling sock. He pauses, dangling the cake in midair, then sighs his long, breathy, irritated sigh.
“Sit down and eat, girl,” he tells her without turning, as if she should have known to join him, and now she’s keeping him waiting.
Sib’s heart starts to flutter with excitement, but she keeps her composure. “But… you haven’t eaten yet master.”
“Are you going to complain about everything I ask you to do? Stand and watch, then. It makes no difference to me.”
And with that, he stuffs the cake into his mouth, his deeply-lined face wrinkling in disgust as he chews. Sib can’t help but grin as she creeps over to the bench opposite her master, slides onto it, then meekly chooses a small cake for herself. She spends the rest of the evening stuffing herself silly with the softest, sweetest, most delicious cakes she has ever tasted.
(prompted by Parisa’s question) The little book on Sib’s belt is one of Magister Cyril’s grimoires, which I’m certain will come in handy when dealing with the Corypheus and the Venatori. This particular grimoire was previously in the possession of Magister Catarina, the somniari magister who Sib met before leaving Tevinter when she was a child. (Catarina and Cyril were once close friends, perhaps even respected rivals.) Sib reunites with Magister Catarina when she returns to her homeland as Fereldan’s chancellor, and Catarina gives Sib her old mentor’s powerful spellbook :3
