4. Does your muse initiate a lot of physical contact?

Surprisingly, no. At least, not with humans. 

It’s another thing if Sylvan is trying to get his pet bird(s) into line, as he’ll do anything to grab them and never let them get out of his sight. 

As for interacting with actual fellow humans, Sylvan doesn’t give a lot of physical contact. He’s kinda formal in that way towards others. If he’s romantic with them, it might be another story.

5. Is your muse comfortable with public displays of affection?

Depends on the affection. However, if you’re going to attempt making out with him due to a reaction upon eating bread, he will stop you very firmly and gently.

(Context: He literally almost got kissed by one of his coworkers judging the semifinals of a bread-making tournament. And this was because said coworker was reacting to a bread he ate for judging, and thought he was kissing his now-ex-girlfriend in his head. Sylvan was very quick to stop him (though he did mistakenly assume that said coworker had the hots for him afterwards). AND THIS IS CANON, BY THE WAY XD)

23. Is your muse the type to discuss their sex life or sexual prowess with others?

Nope. Definitely not. Not at all. Sylvan is ace, and though he’s not against having a discussion of sex and sexuality if it’s a private one, he doesn’t really enjoy the idea of discuss his sex life or prowess with anyone other than his romantic partners.

Even I have difficulty understanding how he functions with romance, but I think it’s because he hasn’t really done much romance recently...

OOC: Given that Sylvan is half French and grew up in France (where Christianity is the dominant religion but the population nowadays doesn't necessarily strongly identify as religious), Sylvan himself doesn't identify with any particular religion and is more on the lines of "spiritual, but not religious" if someone were to ask him. This stance only strengthened itself once he moved to Japan, though he is respectful of the Shinto and Buddhist customs that are intertwined in everyday life in Japan.

OOC: Given that Sylvan is half-Japanese, half-French, but grew up in France, he probably learned French as his mother tongue/birth language by default (especially since his Japanese birth father Yuiichi abandoned the family pretty early on for plot reasons in Yakitate!! Japan).

Given that Sylvan moved to Japan and worked enough to get the General Manager position in Pantasia, however, he absolutely must've passed Japan's mandatory language tests to get the position - probably both the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) and the Business Japanese Proficiency Test (BJT).

For those unaware, the JLPT's results are used to assess job seekers' credentials and evaluate employees for promotion and recognition. They're also split into several levels, from N5 (beginner) to N1 (the highest level to my best understanding). JLPT N1 or N2 certification can apparently help foreigners receive preferential immigration treatment in some circumstances, too.

Given that Sylvan was in a higher-ranked position such as General Manager at Pantasia by the current events of Yakitate!! Japan, he absolutely must've passed, at minimum, N2 certification for the JLPT. He might even have N1 certification for all we know (meaning that he's probably near-fluent in Japanese by the present events of the series).

Given that the General Manager position deals with a lot of business decision-making and related duties, Sylvan likely also took the BJT. Unlike the JLPT, the BJT focuses on measuring a person's practical communicative ability to utilize and respond to given information, ability to express thoughts and opinions, and promoting ideas or projects to people of different backgrounds and expertise. As far as I know it's not split into levels like the JLPT, but it's still pretty important to have.

As for how Sylvan kept up with his French post-moving to Japan and learning Japanese...my headcanon for that is that he keeps in touch with Sophie and practices his French written communication and speaking via phone calls and/or messages to her.

💄  —  smudged lipstick!     a headcanon about a time my muse wore makeup or a costume, whether it be cosmetic, theatre, or leisure.

OOC: Sylvan literally wears a costume every day as General Manager of Pantasia. The mask, the suit, the cape - yep, that's him.

He only wears it during work hours, and he likes that it gives him a sense of anonymity, of mystery. Even though he's wearing it for the sake of attracting customers to Pantasia, it's something he doesn't particularly mind. Besides, it makes it harder for people to recognize him when he doesn't have the mask on.
