Hope the heatwave is treating you okay. I dunno how badly your country is being hit compared to other areas of Europe. But it's not nice over here.
How do you think Sang would react to high temps (heat waves and such)? I don't see him reacting well.
Hey, Anon! It's really hot here today… which means outdoor guppy season has arrived, yay! We'll be able to move some of our guppies outside to allow them to breed during the warmer months.
But while this is certainly a wonderful time for small tropical fish, it's a bit tougher for us… even sitting down to write this question is making us sweat!
But back to our Sangreal…
In the depths of the ocean, temperatures are often very low, almost freezing. The temperature range between one season and the next is minimal, beyond 2,000 meters of depth: in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, the temperature varies between 0°C and 2.5°C, while in the polar seas it varies between 0° and -2°C.
It goes without saying that pistrix require very low temperatures to survive.
Before becoming a human, Sangreal didn't even know that temperatures as high as those found outside of water existed! From his point of view, humans manage to survive in a truly hostile and barbaric way: he looks at all of us as we look at those creatures living in the most inhospitable deserts in the world, managing to make do with a few drops of water.
If Sangreal were to suffer a heatwave in his natural body, as a pistrix, he would die very quickly. Unfortunately, fish (especially those from the deep!) are very sensitive to sudden temperature changes.
When he's in a human body, Sangreal has no problem with the heat, and is almost proud of his ability to tolerate it. He feels like a superhero!
Although if the temperatures are too high, combined with a dry climate, he'd probably prefer to get back into the water… again!
Thanks for asking!
We hope the air temperature is mild and pleasant where you live.
