DK, former member of Empire, has been on a tear as of late. As a soloist, he’s released some of the most popular songs of the past two years, and he’s back again to make his mark on the musical landscape early in 2022. He released his new song, 1AM, today, and while it hasn’t had quite the impact that songs like Eyes Nose Lips have, only time will tell

Burnout’s Boca performed well on the charts, however was much more successful internationally than it was in Korea

Yoosung’s Itaewon Freedom gained a Perfect All Kill, and has been dubbed on the internet as the perfect modern 2nd gen collaboration. 

Byulbit : Antares’ Sailor Moon exploded on Chinese, Taiwanese, and Singaporean charts, earning #1s in all those areas, as well as in Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan as well. It charted in Korea, but not as high, with many experts believing that it would have charted higher in the Korean market had it not been for the return of Yoosung.

Iris SeSo’s Monster gained an All-Kill.

Ginny’s Hold My Hand topped all major real time charts, however with it being released so close to SeSo’s Monster, it under-performed in it’s first week.

Yeong’s Say Yes charted highly, but much like Ginny’s Hold My Hand, it was unfortunately timed, with Monster and Itaewon Freedom to contend with

TRENDING:  Yoosung Makes Long-Awaited Comeback

Ever since leaving Phantom, it’s fair to say that Yoosung has transcended who he was as a boy group member. The soloist has been a hit globally with his fun music and quirky videos to go along with it. But it has been years since he last made a comeback, with many longtime fans wondering if he cashed in his cheque and then was gone for good. 

Yoosung quashed those rumors today with a very hyped up new release-- Itaewon Freedom features DK and Ilya on the track, and is directed by notable Millenium director and producer, Geum Namil. It seems as though Yoosung wanted to make his return count. 

Only time will tell if this song will be as impactful as songs such as Gangnam Style and New Face, however it’s already a contender, topping chats within the first hour of its release.

HOT: MNet Confirms IP3, Announces Coaches

After yesterday’s leak, the jig was up-- MNet announced early this morning that a third iteration of the popular survival show is happening this winter! Though it isn’t yet clear if it’s another female version of the show or something else, MNet has revealed this season’s coaching lineup. 

Following suit behind past hosts Giselle and Prince, this season’s host is none other than Legacy’s Adonis-- most well known for his activities in his idol group, but also for branching out into acting and variety as well. As someone who seems to always be very happy-go-lucky and goofy, fans a eager to see how he does in a mentor position. 

Many may not know Zhao Yuan, however you’ll know her work-- she is a choreographer and dance coach at Siren Entertainment, and will fill Moon Jangbyul’s shoes as this seasons dance mentor. Also from Siren Entertainment comes the rap coach-- LUSS’s own Eda has stepped up to judge the rapping this season.

The most talked about, however, are the image and vocal coaches, as MNet has set up a mini Empire reunion-- Kwon Kyuyeol has been announced the image coach, with DK announced to be the vocal coach. They are the second and third Empire members who have stepped up to be mentors on the Idol Project series.

An official announcement for the new season is coming soon, so avid viewers should keep their eyes peeled!

Sweet Sensation by Jenny charted well on all major charts, but with the return of groups like Creed and DK, and the lack of a traditional music show promotion, it didn’t win any of the music shows it was nominated for.

Creed’s Say My Name got a Perfect All Kill as well, and was their highest charting song yet.

Play by Yein got an All Kill-- it was held back by Say My Name, and though it didn’t get quite the attention that Stay Tonight did on TikTok, the Youtube views were a high for Yein as a soloist.
