General 6 and Romance 3 & Romance 8!

Does your character like romance stories? Why or why not?

Bella isn’t a big fan for stories with romance as the main plot device (as she doesn’t get the point since she sees it as just drama), but she doesn’t mind if romance happens to be a secondary plot, especially in action-oriented novels! She’s a big sucker for love triangles and clichés as such.

What’s your character’s romantic orientation?

She’s still trying to figure that out herself, but as her creator I can tell you (at least at this point in her story) she’s panromantic. c:

What’s a deal-breaker for your character, romance-wise?

Bella connects mostly through personality, so if someone breaks or dances on the edge of her moral code, that’s a near deal-breaker for her. Cheating, surprisingly, isn’t on that moral code, although she, herself, is strictly monogamous.

Bella's greatest fear was loss.

She first lost her freedom when her father forced her into the military. Being a bright-eyed child of wonder, whose free-spirited mother was the one home more often than her father, being forced into an unknown and unfriendly situation wasn't something the girl took lightly, and she rebelled whenever she could, just to try to get a little more freedom back.

She then lost her homeland, as most elves of Quel'Thalas did. Bella was expected by those around her to adapt to life in an unknown settlement without her newest sister by her side (whom she had bonded in recent years at that time). Bella refused to stay, taking a young man's word that they could fix her home and revitalize her daughter without a second glance.

She lost her mentor, the one who accommodated her to her new life and took the time to teach her, in her own way, the skills needed to survive in 'the real world' (versus the more luxurious life a higher-status elf could be anticipated to have). He gave her the belief and willpower to achieve her dreams (while mostly achieving his plans). Through this, she lost her other main support- her partner and best friend.

Nowadays, Bella is no longer afraid of loss, she's afraid of control. Her being controlled, her controlling too much, the regents of the land becoming power-crazy. She's seen the use of control in frightening ways, and thus, after losing nearly everything, is now afraid of losing control of herself, others, controlling too much, ect.

15 for the deep or dark secret

Does your character have a deep and/or dark secret? If so, what is it?

“I find it difficult to discern what would really be considered a ‘dark secret’,” Bella starts, scrunching up her nose and eyebrows in thought. “I’m pretty open about what I talk about, although I might as well share something.”

“These scars?” The elf motions to the large, round scar on her left cheek and pulls back her shirt to show smaller, similarly shaped pustule-scars on her upper back and shoulders. “These are from when I accidentally had a plague vial break on me.”

“Luckily I had been a test subject for a couple... safer antidotes, so my body didn’t turn to complete mush, but I still died.” Bella trailed off for a second, seemingly losing track in her story, but she shook her head. “A warlock friend of mine thought it would be funny to toss my soul into an undead proto drake, but my sister found out and blackmailed him into putting my soul back into my body.”

“So, long story short, I’m part undead, and yeah, that affects my Light usage to near-none. Not like I was able to use it much, anyway, but... yeah!”

(( Bella has great taste in fashion, but doesn’t see the use or purpose for it outside formal events, to which she very rarely goes. She finds her three outfits (battle/stand-by, comfort, and sleep) useful enough, and anything else too extravagant.

Strangely enough, she swaps out jewellery pieces all the time, even when readying for combat, and it’s uncommon to see the same piece on her twice in a month. ))

Happy TMI Tuesday! Where does Rosalie see herself in 10 years?

(( Rose sees herself, currently, doing much as her mother did- Caring for her spouse and child. Although, her dreams include a bit more adventure than bake-offs and military practices. 

She plans on taking them (or at the very least her daughter) out to complete the quest Bella started (developing/testing/completing/administering the anti-plague), but she’s quite a bit from that, still. ))

What was the most traumatic event in Rosalie's life and how did it shape who she is today?

(( It shows little now in the story line, but I plan to have some more develop-y things happen in Legion. But let me tell you anyway, I suppose.

As a sindorei, of course traumatic things have happened to her, but what she would refer to as ‘the most traumatic’ has nothing to do with her heritage. It would likely be the Battle for Undercity.

Seeing the first thing that she really put her heart and soul into all be torn away from her in a night, seeing her mentor which she idolized have his head roll along the stones, feeling betrayed for the first time by those she held close- Bella had no idea someone could feel so much sorrow, rage, and despair all at once.

Bella, for the better part of Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria, became a depressed drunkard, trying to find a high for herself where there could be none. Magic and drugs were her primary directive, and she ‘signed up’ with the Blood Knights to fund said project.

Then she met Riniah, which turned her life around significantly (esp. in Warlords)- Bella stopped the drugs and the drinking (although the magic thing was always and still is an issue), although her depression is still there, still gnawing at her.

Bella does try to be the brightest, happiest person possible, but sometimes goodwill isn’t enough to combat illness.

Later on, Putress’ death and (in Bella’s perspective) the Forsaken’s low drive to get anything done in a reasonable amount of time will make her into a vengeful spirit- doing whatever she deems necessary to bring about an end to the madness that is the Scourge. The end must justify the means, as it is told. ))
