yeah, no it’s pretty gross. A lot of the allegories are incredible inappropriate, and the fandom is kind of racist while trying to claim they’re not racist at all :/

its like... there was an attempt to have some sort of message but it didnt follow through, or even go about it in the right way? i dunno, ive seen some good posts floating around about the game but havent seen enough of it to really have context

YEAH EXACTLY like i think there was a lot abt him in d1 that i foudn really compelling and interesting, but he just went on this journey of being a character who @ first glance is a really interesting spin off of the hotshot coolguy character trope bcz he has a thoughtful and intricate underside to being just the hot shot cool guy trope and thats it and thats all there is

not sure if you ever put it down anywhere but where were joey + pablo first rezzed, how did they end up there in the first place, and how did they feel upon waking up for the first time?

pablo was rezzed like, uhhhh, way way far away from the city. assuming the city is Somewhere In Russia and like dude i just realized i actually have no idea where the city is- ANYWAYS so pablo wasn’t super lucky in his Guardian Beginnings. he was confused + scared + didnt know who he was or what he was doing, he was mad at ghost for 1) bringing him back from the dead to a world in ruin and 2) not being able to revive any of the other ppl near him. he woke up like, in the cockpit of one of those big evacuation ships and in uniform, so he figures he must have been part of the crew or a pilot or something. anyways so pablo totally absolutely rejects the whole guardian thing and doesnt try to understand/talk to meebs like At All while they scrounged around for weeks trying to reach the city/find a ship that could take them there. eventually they get their acts together tho. pablo is way older than joey actually, was rezzed around all the osiris drama and kind of quietly sat through all that guardian history- but he wasnt living in the tower at that time.

jonquil i imagine... pretty similar to in-game rez- somewhere in the cosmodrome, near the city, like, he was able to get to the city fairly easy and get established. tazetta tells people that he took the whole rezzing thing Very Well, like, she’d heard stories and all about peoples guardians freaking the hell out at first rez and acting really wild but joey was....silent, pretty much, he barely said anything for the first few months of adjusting to Guardian Life because he was like, ACTUALLY freaking the hell out but like inside his head-which tazzy doesn’t know about since at that point their neural link wasn’t like, fully situated. So anyways joey spent his first few weeks in kind of a whirlwind of activity and motion because he had like NO idea what was going on and was desperately trying to contextualize everything he was learning/seeing/experiencing. joey pretty much spent the first few months of his new life being overwhelmed and overstimulated before he could finally calm the hell down and start to figure out whats going on
