A random shower thought I had this morning:
I know that a while ago I posted a little post where I was just yapping about Forbie and their strange sexual habits/kinks/and whatnot. But for some reason I didn't tackle on the obvious one??
Warning: it's not necessarily graphic, but I do talk about incest seeping into kink (there's no actual incest here though, it's only between Nigel and Alex). I'm just yapping.
Oye... hear me out
Apotheosis - the glorification of a subject to divine levels and, commonly, the treatment of a human being, any other living thing, or an abstract idea in the likeness of a deity.
Alex worshipping the symbol of Nigel and his beliefs after his death, and if "ghosts" can be affected by the way they are perceived... could Alex have a hand in helping Nigel achieve that Eternity by making him divine?
Alex and the deadly deity he created—they both do somehow share the same amount of control over the other since Alex was his maker, but also worships everything Nigel stands for.
The body horror potentialsss, the unnerving vibes, the devotion, the beauty in it alllll. Nigel, in all his putrid rot, still being the most beautiful thing to Alex. The stench of death clinging to Alex's bedsheets and walls, the maggot-filled kisses, the inconceivable amount of limbs and eyes and mouths and voices that can exist all at once—to represent Life as a whole in Death's embrace. And it's in that embrace, that Alex's life slowly drains away, as he grows sicker and sicker with every passing day.
After all, Death is the first step to reaching Eternity.
Content warning for: hinted incestuous feelings (from Nancy), slight unhealthy dynamics between mother and daughter, and very light suggestive themes towards the end (fem Forbie).
Do you think Helen had to marry earlier than she would've wanted?
Does she sometimes grieve the time she could've spent savoring her "unchained" years?
And when her baby girl hits the age of eight—maybe, she tries her best to live vicariously through her.
Having a hard time trying to establish the limit where a post of mine deserves the #absurd minds tag
Because it was originally meant to be a tag to put any posts that were either "why would you post this" flavored or dead dove / dead dove-adjacent, but the issue kinda kicks in when Like Minds as a media, in general, already has themes that would fall under Dead Dove. But also?? I sometimes just dump any post that feels risqué in there too, so what the hell?
It's kinda just a game of "is this too much?", but with the lingering question of "what do others see as 'too much'?" Because what I may see as too much, might extremely differ from what someone else sees as too much, which might differ from another person.
At this point, I've just mainly relied on the mindset of: this media has dark themes, if I delve into them deeper than just surface level, they get the tag.
Little snippet from thing I'm (STILL) writing
This was supposed to be a silly doodle. Just a warm up. ITS BEEN FOUR HOURS.
This was also supposed to have a few extras but I’m exhausted now (ughh)
[og tags with thoughts involving this art piece + Nigel and Helen's relationship under the cut]
Actually, related to my last reblog because I NEED to clown on myself right now for this.
So, two years ago, I watched Like Minds for the first time with my little sister (she watched it once before and was desperate to have someone to talk to about it). Everything went as you'd expect for someone's first time watching it.
BUT, we got to the end, and it's when Sally flips the Jack of Spades card around and the "My Beloved Susan" is revealed—and my ass started SCHEMING EXCUSES.
Like, I am sorry, but I cannot believe the way I tried arguing for my absolute life to my sister that "erm, actually! The rewriting of that phrase implies that 'My Beloved Maraclea' and 'My Beloved Susan' are Different Roles! 🤓☝️ So, technically, Susan got her own personal role and Nigel is still open to be Maracl—"
CROW. PLEASE.
I WAS FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE, I TELL YOU!!!
