My friend was the Brendon following Ryan thing, and I was there when it appeared... it’s real.

i’m not saying brendon was forced to say “this is me coming out as pan,” but something about how all the media announced it like it was something Wow kinda bothered me? like, he’s said it before. he’s said multiple times that he’s attracted to people, and it’s not really news to us, like you’re saying? it just bothers me that we all have to slap a label on bren, ya know. he just loves who he loves and right now, and probably for a very long time, it’s gonna be sarah. so like, he’s whatever the fuck he is, and he’s lgbt. we know this.

unpopular opinion: ryden shouldn't be mentionted to ryan, but it isn't wrong to ask brendon about it. he's popular now and quite open about personal stuff. of course, people shouldn't be invasive, but what's wrong with just asking him about his relationships? he also said it's cute when people ship ryden. however, ryan's case looks different since he's not popular at all. until he becomes famous, we should focus on him instead of band that he's not in; opposed to brendon, who never left panic.

i get where you’re coming from, but the thing is a lot of people (as you can see on instagram, most of all) don’t know the boundaries. like you said, it’s fine to ask him about his relationships (note that I didn’t say Ryan but just his relationships in general) in a mature and respectful way, not in the “where’s ryan???? miLK fic haha What HappEnD in CapE towN” way, you know? 

yeah, brendon’s popular, and he’s open, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we gotta pry and ask for more and more each time he lets us in a little. he’s still a married adult, with a life that he doesn’t have to share with us and we should be content with what he does share. and obviously, i’m not married or old enough to say for sure (and i think it depends on the people) but your past relationships aren’t necessarily a topic you want to linger on, especially if you’re happily married? idk if you get my stance but ig that’s just what i think. 

as for brendon saying ryden’s cute, i think it was in a “haha y’all are delusional that’s cute” way. and i believe that was from that Bad Bad interview from paper magazine, too, so I’m not gonna stay on that for too long. yeah, it doesn’t bother him that we do it, but i still think we shouldn’t bring it up to him. he probably sees it enough as it is. 

it tears my heart apart every time i go through ryan’s instagram and see all the horrible comments immature people leave on every single one of his posts. this fandom’s already caused him enough pain and i agree that none of that shit should be on any of his social media - which is possibly why he’s stopped using it that much. 

so, if you wanna ask brendon about his relationships, go ahead. just don’t focus it on ryden. he’s already said he was never in a relationship with ryan, and i doubt we’re gonna get more than that.

i think the interviewer kinda pressured him into it, like """i guess""this is me coming out" he didn't need to say it, we know he said the same things before and it was fine but now the media got it "in print" so to say and made it a big deal just for the fucking publicity they dont care about lgbt ppl they just wanted to trend : /

definitely. the interviewer didn’t pressure him into talking about his sexuality, but imo, kind of backed him into a corner by saying “so, you’re pansexual?” and to that, he had to say yes because that’s kind of what he had described. it just kind of threw me off and made me sad to see that every front page (or, y’know, first blog page) from most alt magazines were all about brendon coming out, because it wasn’t a surprise. he’s said it before, he’s told us about his sexuality before. the trend thing definitely worked, but i hate that he gave his opinion on so many other interesting subjects - the #metoo movement, the music industry etc - and none of that was brought up. just his sexuality, as if that’s the only thing that matters, as if that’s all there is to him or that he swears by it. 

i understand, representation is great. i identify as bi myself and desperately seek like, role models that are also bi. but that doesn’t mean you should be slapping labels on people who don’t necessarily want them, right? brendon’s committed to sarah right now, and in my eyes, that’s all there is to it. he didn’t really want this coming out, and i think, much less for it to be headline news.

Someone I follow on Insta posted on their story a screen recording where they went to their likes, went to followers, saw the notification that Brendon followed Ryan, and they went to check and in his follow list he wasn't on there. It may still be fake, idk, I'll try to find the video, but for now you should probably disregard this message

the fact that i received two of those asks telling me it’s real - and most of it isn’t secondhand knowledge - just makes me believe it. ah, fuck it. im believing it.
