everytime i have to even consider thinking about julie danzgier i want to projectile vomit & then proceed to hug hal. dude's been through so fucking much, and it's unfortunately, something i can relate to. stuff that he and i still blame ourselves for it happening, even though it was out of our grasp & when we didn't know better.

Idk if it’s helpful, but I think it’s good that hollyhock didn’t come on screen at the end. Her story was in a lot of ways centered around the ways that bojack’s toxic behavior traumatized her, and how his genuine attempts to be a good brother didn’t mean he didn’t hurt her. She chose to cut him out after he admitted to what he did, and she doesn’t have to share her story with anyone. She’s free.

that’s all true! and it does make me feel a little better.

i just have a Weird time thinking about bojack and hollyhock’s relationship because of some of my own very toxic sibling relationships—my oldest brother, for example, was always cruel and abusive and only got worse when he became an addict, and while i hope he gets help, i don’t want him in my life anymore and don’t feel any obligation to help him just because we’re related.

but ive also been on other side of that, sort of, and said or done really mean things to my siblings when my mental health has been bad, so i. empathize with bojack still wanting to repair his relationship with her, even after every horrible thing he did. he doesn’t have the right to! she doesn’t owe him that! but i understand why he wants to.

also the big thing abt the finale that made me sad was that bojack like.... doesn’t really have anyone left besides mr peanutbutter by the end. like diane and princess carolyn and todd are still There and sort of in his life but he hurt all of them, a lot, and can never fix that. i understand why the show ends where it does but i’m still like... bojack staying sober and having positive and healthy friendships with new people.... i would like to see it,

when sylvia was in college, she was with one (1) person for about 6 months. he slammed her into a wall in anger once (1ce) and she left. because if he could do that only 6 months in, and she didn’t leave, what would it look like in a year’s time? in five?

she doesn’t like being pushed around in general, but especially not being pushed into walls. it makes her anxious, and panicky, and she will stop whatever was going on immediately.

because i saw a few other people doing it —

modern au blake was studying politics but switched to humanitarian and development studies as soon as she could. she took a break for a couple of semesters because she didn’t really like college that much, but then decided to come back for it later.

the break was primarily due to the falling out between her and her abusive ex, after which blake dropped out of school and ran away in order to gain distance. she comes back after a year or two of absence to tell her parents, and get his stalking tendencies sorted out legally.

she had a bad period of rebelling where she dabbled in crime syndicates while her grades were deteriorating. this was before she ran away.

she volunteers under multiple organisations, especially with programs that allow her to travel overseas to developing countries.

when blake dropped out she did a lot of odd jobs and professions that weren’t really connected: event ushering, secret shopper, uber driver, sometimes for money, and sometimes just for the experience. she would settle down for a little while and earn some money in the middle of nowhere. she drifted while she travelled, hitch hiked a lot attempting to find herself.

she literally ran away to join the circus at one point.

blake has a lot of stories from her travels, it just takes a lot of patience to coax them from her.

blake legally has her mother’s maiden name as her surname. even though she adores her father, she doesn’t want whatever bad decisions she makes to effect his political career negatively. similarly, she doesn’t want people butting into her private life purely because she’s the daughter of a politican.

she’s dabbled in a lot of courses she hasn’t finished. a lot of trade courses. blake can functionally perform a lot of the basics of professions like plumbing, carpentry, automotive maintanence, electrical engineering, and then there are some other specific skills she picked up while drifting.

her only social media is a dead facebook profile that stopped updating when she was sixteen, and an instagram account that has no description, or captions, it’s just pictures of her adventures. it’d be hard to tell it was hers if it weren’t for the occassional selfie. wait that’s a lie, she has a dead deviantart account, and tbh probably a tumblr where she rants and uploads sketches. she has a sporadically updated youtube account where she uploads sarcastic make up tutorials and thinly veiled commentary on sexism, racism, and the political agenda.

she does street art as well, even has a permit for it. she uses chalk to draw massive pictures on the side walk.

even when she returns and has more of a grounding in her life than before, she still has wanderlust, and whenever she has free time just takes the train to a random destination to see what she can find. blake disappears for days on end and is hard to keep track of ( similarly to a cat ) but if you’re close to her she’ll always find a way back home.

can we discuss how much clint genuinely dislikes hospitals and most medical doctors because the doctors he saw as a child for various abuse related injuries never once helped him, despite the fact that it became increasingly obvious that these injuries were not the result of ‘boys just being boys’ and rough housing between two brothers?

        School life is not easy for someone like him. Timid, shy and very scrawny, he’s always the target of one bully or another. He deals with it daily, being taken to the back of the school and tormented by one person or another, until they all got bored. Then he gathers his belongings and tries to make it home in one piece.

        Today is no different. Kosuke has his back pressed up against a wall with a much bigger guy standing over him. They have on hand pressed against the wall next to Kosuke’s head to keep him from escaping. He’s used to being hurt physically -- but, recently, ever since he entered college, rough hands began traveling lower and lower. The guy towering over him slides a hand underneath his shirt-- and that’s when Kosuke truly freaks out. He begins to struggle more, frustrating the other student. The guy shoves Kosuke to the ground and drives the toe of his boot into his side, causing Kosuke to lose the breath he had stored in his lungs.

        His mouth opens and a silent scream escapes as he curls into himself in hopes of protecting his more -- delicate regions. Save me, save me, save me. Please, someone, save me.
