AU! Apocalypse-verse Castiel doesn’t have a German accent

Just listen to him pronounce his THs as Ds (not Zs), and swallow those Ls way to the back of his throat. It’s not even close to a German accent. I think it’s something Slavic - like Czech, Serbian, or Croatian. Possibly Polish.

And honestly, that accent fits in really well with A) the Soviet military surplus uniform he’s wearing, and B) the surname ‘Novak.’ That name is super-duper common in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland. All that’s happened is Apocalypse!Universe Jimmy Novak’s parents didn’t immigrate to the US, and Prime!Universe Jimmy Novak’s parents did.

And if I had to guess, I would say that the reason why the Novaks stayed in Europe has to do with Mary Campbell’s 30+ year hunting career. I could see a poltergeist or vengeful spirit tormenting poor Mr. and Mrs. Novak - who are super religious, worried about the safety of their young son, prepared to move to the other side of the world to get away.

You know what I love? When uncommon words in their vocabulary come up and they still have such a southern accent when they say it.

Link saying lawyer(s) is a perfect example (he said it in the More today ~2:15).

It makes me grin.
