“Rock The Boat” made its world premiere on BET’s Access Granted at 8pm EST. This would be the last music video Aaliyah puts her work and heart into as well as the last time Aaliyah does a special for BET Networks.

BET producer Kevin Taylor said that even though putting together the show was tough, footage of Aaliyah joking with stylists Eric Foreman and Christopher Maldonado, who were also killed in the twin-engine plane crash, made it bittersweet. “They were completely hilarious, like sitcom funny,” Taylor said. “I’ve never been around a group of people who were funnier.”

There is apparently HOURS and hours of unreleased footage of Aaliyah during those days but much of it was compiled and chopped down to a half hour mini documentary of this music video. So, what gives BET? Hype Williams? WHAT GIVES Blackground? Can we get some more rare footage? We ain't asking for ALL of it (not yet anyway).

Nightfall with Google?

It took anywhere from between 70 to 100 minutes for the sun to completely set. Within those 70 to 100 minutes, the sky was painted an extraordinary array of colors; pinks, purples, oranges, and reds. Google stood smoothly from his desk, ignoring his upgrades as he left the office and headed for the stairs. Up he went, counting each step that he knew by heart until he arrived at the rooftop. The view was gorgeous and Google seated himself on the lip of the building, leaning back on his hands. He watched the sun fall below the horizon and he let himself feel, revel in the last rays of warmth before darkness wrapped the world in calm silence. When he opened his eyes again, the sky was decorated with billions of stars, gleaming and so so far away.Humankind was a disaster, a plague, a curse….but the world they lived in? It was beautiful.

Saturday, August 25, 2001. This day, which began quietly in Abaco, changed me forever. Scheduled to preach in Baltimore, MD, I boarded a small plane to Miami and then on to Bmore. I joined 2 friends and went to dinner. We returned to our hotel room...and my phone started trumpeting call after call, first Diane Blanksumee, then Penny Mack...and then my Momma. It went from tabloid speculation to CNN confirmation. I had the last footage of Aaliyah, alive and vibrant. She was gone. So was my sweet friend Chris and so were 6 others. The press rounds were brutal because I had to speak their names so that people would honor them and their lives.
