Anime Central 2020 has been cancelled, and OLDCODEX was scheduled to perform there
Utapri 7th Stage, which was originally scheduled for April 18-19 2020, has been pushed back to 2021 due to the impact of the coronavirus
As for LADDERGRAPH Tour, which is scheduled to start just a week after 7th stage, more info to come soon (hopefully)!

I’m not sure how many people are active at conventions but I thought it would be really fun to meet and hang out with old friends and make new friends! I’m posting this way ahead of time because why not. Contact any of us! ( even if you’re not into the fandom and want to meet up and make friends with some cool cats, contact us!)
I think I’m gunna bring back my Zone-tan cosplay for my (potentially) last ACen next year. I want to do a fun variant tho, I wonder what I should do~ 💜

Today would have been the big Saturday of Anime Central 2020, and even though the show is cancelled this year, they are having an Anime Central 2020 Online: A Virtual Gathering which is awesome.
In honor of the show and the gathering, I am sharing today's Chalk Art Throw-Back Time Lapse from ACen 2018, and the time when a "Pirate Theme" artwork may have been one of my most complex murals to date. The incredible original artwork was by Julia Lichty. See more of her work at www.ghostfire.net
There was a massive amount of detail to get right on this, from every piece of clothing, to large scale perspective and lighting that had to be just right, to wood grain... so so so much wood grain. It was a challenge to be sure, and I am absolutely ecstatic about how it turned out.
So happy Anime Central Weekend, happy Saturday to all you Virtual Con Attendees, be safe and kind to each other, and enjoy this chalk art memory! Looking forward to seeing you all in person soon.
Anime Central ONLINE this weekend!
In case you haven’t heard through ACEN’s official channels, the midwest’s biggest anime convention has been moved online! This free streaming event will include concerts, interactive contests, guest appearances, live MCing, anime screening, children’s programming, industry announcements, and nearly two dozen video panels from regular ACEN presenters (including some from ASIHTB). Even the Soap Bubble dance will be streamed!
Throughout the weekend, ASIHTB’s Laura and Alena will be tag-teaming MC duties with Zach and Jim (better known to ACEN attendees as Stripper Vash and Voltz) and other ACEN staff. We also have programming in the lineup: Alena presents Patterns Lie! and Other Useful Sewing Facts, a guide to beginning sewing and patterning for cosplay, and Laura gives a series of fascinating short historical talks, Storytime from Japanese History. We’ve also compiled a video retrospective of cosplay at Anime Central in lieu of this year’s Masquerade.
You can join the fun via ACEN’s YouTube channel or Twitch channel. The schedule of events is available here (times are in CDT and subject to change, so check for updates). Some guests and panelists will also be doing live Q&A via chat during their streams, so be sure to tune in early!
