I don’t think it’s strange or anything. It’s about building bonds, and if they’re not there, they’re not there, you know? It’s like how some people are close to their parents and others couldn’t care if they fell off a cliff and died.

first of all, it took about two days off and on, just to write this

and I'm pretty sure I cried.  this just absolutely broke my heart.  like between this and the following chapter I didn't even know what to do with myself.

I mean, how do you move on from that? and I just remember thinking, god how is this affecting Derek, what is he thinking?

so that's why the next chapter goes to Derek

and I loved how Peter handled everything too.  it was all very understated but I have such a soft spot for Peter like you don't even know okay
