Elaheh Namdar is twenty-three years old and is a senior. Her major is Middle Eastern History.

Elaheh was born in Iran and grew up in Tehran, within a liberal family. Though she was raised a Muslim, she was allowed to question her beliefs which has led to her ’meh’ attitude towards her religion now. Her open upbringing was also the cause of her action in the 2009 presidential election protests. Her participation in the protests led her to be a target of the government, forcing her family to flee. Wanting to give their daughter a good chance in life, they moved to the US where they believed she would have more opportunities. She decided to major in Middle Eastern History as way of staying true to her roots, despite the discrimination she received because of them. Currently, she’s a bit of an outcast at the college with many of her friends being formed because of classes - hence why her best friend is an Iraqi boy with an attitude. Insult her, or her origins, and you’re probably going to get punched.
