Hey, what about 14 & 15 for the end of year fanfic asks? Also OMG YES I LOVE THE FIC YOU MADE ME!!! o(≧▽≦)o
14. a fic you didn’t expect to write
Definitely Solace With You, because it was my firstcommission! I never thought I was good or popular enough to do commissionsuntil then, but someone made a post saying basically “Hey, I’ll pay someone towrite this story for me” and I said hellyeah and messaged them.
It turned out really great, too! I love writing an emotionalGladio like that and that fic really had a mind of its own as I was writing it.
15. something you learned this year
How to properly use dialogue tags and all the punctuationassociated with them lol
Nah but so much! I think the most important thing was how towrite trans characters. It was a very unique challenge but not that hard in theend I think.
Based on my own experience with it, I think more peopleshould try to write stuff like that that’s not particularly relevant to them intheir real lives. Like, I’m not trans, I’ve never identified as any genderother than female, but that doesn’t mean I can’t put myself in someone else’sshoes and portray their life and struggles in fiction.
It was a struggle at times because I worried that I was notportraying the trans character accurately but in the end I turned out somereally good fics that I’m proud of and that other people like, so that’s all Ican really ask for. It was and still is such a cool thing, to write a charactertotally different than yourself, but I think it’s something everyone shouldtry.
send me end of the year fanfic asks!
