Maybe this has already been said, but this city shuts down in a storm, so Tuesday and probably Wednesday might be snowed in days if it’s as bad as they’re saying. You might want to prioritize exciting outings for Monday (and make sure you don’t stick around wherever they’re staying past 8 pm or so Monday night–especially if it’s a car ride away from your place)
This is a very good point! Thank you very much for making it. I’d been counting on light snow and the MARC still operating so at least I could show them DC if Baltimore was pretty much shut down but I need to figure out if that’s realistic. Fortunately they’re staying fifteen minutes’ walk away so the logistics of getting around if the roads are snowed in should not be terrible.

I get it. It’s not that I think the health information isn’t important (although pneumonia isn’t exactly cancer) But I’m very sympathetic about the bind her campaign is in ALL the time. Her trustworthiness is endlessly questioned no matter what she does, whether she’s transparent about it or not. If she had announced on Friday, the headlines would have been “is it REALLY pneumonia? What is she hiding?” It’s hard to watch when the stakes are so high and
I definitely understand what you mean - here and in your other replies, which I’m having difficulty figuring out what to reply to. I guess I just feel like should expect more in terms of disclosure from the serious adult candidate, you know? I agree that it’s unfair that Trump’s medical note is like “he’s in just the most excellent health, hugely healthy, possibly the healthiest person alive” but at the same time we should set the bar for the candidate who’s almost definitely going to be running the country higher than the bar for the loud buffoon protest candidate.

I don’t know much about it, but one of the lawyers interviewed by a local anchor said that the letter was essentially a boilerplate and didn’t see that it would have much effect. She did say the word “independent” about a thousand times this morning.

Honestly, it’s hard to say how any of this will go from here because it’s so rare to have charges brought there isn’t a lot of experience. It’s not my understanding that the tangental conflicts of interest will be relevant at all.

all they can do is bitch about it. they may win the minds and hearts of ppl but they won’t be right in the eyes on the law.
All right - thanks so much to both of you. This is really reassuring to know.

They released this in advance of her press conference announcing the charges. When she was asked about it, she dismissed the idea and pointed out that she is accountable to the electorate, a SP isn’t accountable to anyone.
Oh, that’s good to know. Thank you very much. And there’s no way that any of what the police union said could make it more difficult to punish the officers?
Sorry if this sounds really foolish. Just legitimately don’t understand whether conflicts of interest are a thing state’s attorneys are supposed to worry about seeing as they’re not impartial arbitrers. Is the letter just meant to play well in the media?
