Nantucket’s Annual Christmas Stroll is back again! It’s the season of giving, shopping, eating, and being merry all day long! The Christmas Stroll is put on by the Nantucket Chamber and presented by the Steamship Authority! Here are some of our favorite events going on this weekend! Dunlovely Flower Crown Workshop
Looking for that final floral accessory to complete your Stroll outfit!? Well, we have you covered! Join us as we learn how to make a lush flower crown with Colleen Dunleavy of Dunlovely Floral Design. Choose from a wide variety of holiday-inspired florals and greenery. All materials are included and absolutely no experience is necessary.
NHA’s Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees is the NHA’s highly anticipated holiday tradition that kicks off the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce’s Stroll weekend and transforms the Whaling Museum into a festive winter wonderland for the entire month of December! This event features community-crafted trees designed by local merchants, nonprofit organizations, artists, and children.
The NHA is extremely grateful for the involvement and support of the many individuals and organizations that contribute to the success of the Festival of Trees. Your creativity and talent make it all possible!
Pop-Up Shop with Piping Prints & A Salty Soul
Stop by 29 Centre Street to shop Piping Prints & A Salty Soul! It will be going on all Stroll weekend long; Thursday 12pm - 6pm, Friday 10am - 6pm, Saturday 10am - 6pm! Get the perfect gift for a friend, a niece or nephew, a family member or even a little something for yourself!
Happy Place Reopening
Happy Place is back open for the Holidays for their Holiday Market! Open 9am - 3pm daily at 2 Chins Way, next to Island Kitchen.
Nantucket Christmas Marketplace
10:00AM-3:00PM NANTUCKET’S OWN CHRISTMAS MARKETPLACE Meander through our wondrous Christmas Market and celebrate the enchantment of the season. Indulge in the aromas of delectable food and beverages as you chat with friends and survey a variety of handcrafted gifts and merchandise sold by Chamber members and non-profit organizations. Foot of Main Street. A few tables we’re looking forward to seeing is Nantucket Candle Company, Nantucket Millworks, Nantucket island Safe Harbor for Animals (NiSHA), the Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts, Nantucket Wine & Food Festival, and MORE!
Santa Claus Arrives
12:15PM SANTA CLAUS ARRIVES! Gather at Straight Wharf to watch Santa arrive via Coast Guard cutter, and join Santa’s parade as it travels up Main Street and across Centre Street to the NHA Whaling Museum - Discovery Center. (Santa will be traveling in a vintage fire truck this year!) The "Head Elf" visits with children from 1-2:45 P.M. Doors close promptly at 3:00PM.....Santa needs to return to the North Pole!
Visit With Santa Claus
1:00PM - 3:00PM VISIT WITH SANTA CLAUS! The "Head Elf" visits with children from 1-2:45 P.M at the NHA Discovery Room located the Nantucket Whaling Museum. Doors close promptly at 3:00PM.....Santa needs to return to the North Pole!
Christmas Stroll Craft Show
The largest collection of handmade items on Nantucket during Stroll Weekend! Join them upstairs at 11 Center Street on Friday, December 6 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, December 7 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Leslie Linsley Book Signing at Marine Home Center
Stroll on into Marine on Stroll Saturday, December 7, 2019 for a book signing with Leslie Linsley between 2:00 pm - 3:30pm! You’ll have the chance to meet the famous author, Leslie Linsley and have her sign a copy of A Nantucket Christmas.
Holiday Homes with NHA
Tour three NHA historic homes decorated for the holiday season! Holiday Homes will feature each of these historic homes beautifully decorated in festive trimmings for the holiday season.
Holiday House Tours
Friends of Nantucket Public School (FONPS) is proud to present the 47th Annual Holiday House Tour. NEW THIS YEAR: Post House Tour Stroll Soiree at 7pm!
There are three ticket options to support our school children! Option 1: Your $50 ticket includes: The Holiday House Tour, Admission to the Festival of Trees (night of tour only), The Reception at the Nantucket Whaling Museum. Caroling by the Accidentals and Naturals. Refreshments by NHS Culinary Arts Program. Options 2: $100 ticket includes: Post HouseTour Stroll Soiree. Festive libations, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and holiday jazz music at Nantucket Culinary Center from 7-9pm. Join us in celebrating Stroll Weekend! Option 3: Combo ticket: $125. Includes Holiday House Tour (all items included in $50 ticket) as well as entry into the Post Tour Stroll Soiree at Nantucket Culinary Center
J McLaughlin Sip & Shop Supporting Nantucket Community Sailing
Check out the winter collection and enjoy a festive beverage at J. McLaughlin. 15% of sales will benefit Nantucket Community Sailing. Over the past 25 years Nantucket Community Sailing has provided $1million in sailing scholarships to island children.
"A Nantucket Christmas Carol" by White Heron Theatre
White Heron Theatre presents 'A Nantucket Christmas Carol,' opening Thanksgiving Day and continuing through December 14th. This delightful new play by Mark Shanahan premiered in 2018 at White Heron Theatre, as an adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic. Music, drama and quick-change artistry help tell the story of whaling captain Ebenezer Scrooge in this beloved Nantucket holiday favorite.
