AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum Review: A Personal Journey to Clearer Skin

Dealing with dark spots and uneven skin tone has always been a challenge for me. I’ve tried countless products, some effective and others not so much. Recently, I decided to give the AXIS-Y Dark Spot Correcting Glow Serum a try after hearing rave reviews about its brightening and spot-correcting abilities. Here’s my honest review after using it consistently for the past few…
Product. You can find a full-length description of the claims & ingredients of this product online, so I’ll keep this short. This cleanser goes from a jelly to light foam and is meant to be gentle, hydrating, and brightening. It’s stated as a vegan-friendly product that gently exfoliates the skin (which I believe is both chemical and physical—it has a small amount of physical particles inside which are green tea leaf powder!).
My experience. The consistency of this is really interesting to me. It’s not your typical gel cleanser texture but it’s more like a jello. It’s almost like egg whites if you’re familiar with that sort of texture. Anyways, it’s gentle enough not to irritate my acne-prone, dry, easily-irritated skin, and it really doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or tight like some stronger foaming cleansers often do. Like I mentioned, this one does have green tea leaf powder in it, which look and feel like little seed-like bits. I typically don’t use any sort of physical exfoliator because they can be harmful to the skin (and chemical exfoliators do wonders all on their own). But I think this one is mild enough that if you’re gentle in applying it to your face, it shouldn’t be a problem. That being said, if you’re a scrub junkie but you’re trying to wean off of physical exfoliators, this might be a good compromise for you. It does have a scent to it, a sort of fruity herbal smell, which I think is a refreshing, pleasant scent.
Recommendations. I don’t have anything extreme to say here—I think this is a great option for an everyday gentle cleanser, especially for dry to normal skin types and/or as a morning cleanser (I always recommend a gentler cleanser in the morning, or just using good ol’ water). If you’re a fan of anything scrub textured, you may especially like this as a cleanser. And even though I said dry to normal skin types, this is safe (and probably a great option) no matter what skin type(s) you have. This cleanser has that bouncy, fruity, refreshing feel that I think fits well for this Spring season and upcoming Summer—it just feels aesthetically right, lol. But anyways, if you’ve been on the search for a gentle & refreshing cleanser that’ll help brighten up your dull skin, definitely check this one out.
Where to buy. I got mine from Be Mused Korea; they have a ton of unique Korean products with a focus on cruelty-free products. I actually know the company’s marketing manager and she’s the one who kindly reached out to me and introduced me to Be Mused Korea (and now I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole and have ten items in my cart, lol). Her Tumblr account is @jungjoobunny, so check her out.
Currently, Be Mused Korea is giving out free ONEOSEVEN sheet masks if you buy the cleanser, so definitely hop on that deal if you think this cleanser is for you. I’ve tried the sheet masks, and they’re great too.
