Various instruments wheezed and spun in the dimly lit room. Alastor Moody trusted no one, half the cells of Azkaban were filled due to him and it meant he saw enemies on every corner. Paranoid to the full extend now adays he barely left the heavily fortified house he lived in.
His paranoia made even worse after he had been attacked and abducted.
“What business is it of yours” he harshly asked the youth. No, Alastor no longer even made an effort as socializing and yet Dumbledore wished him to join the Order again. He saw the child’s concernas interrogation in his paranoid mind as if the boy was trying to figure out his weak spots.
“Tell Dumbledore I’ll do it and he ought to stop sending people knocking on my door or the next one leaves on a stretcher. “
Charlie stood in the doorway, full of determination and bright arrogance. Dumbledore had chosen him to come fetch Moody, the famous Auror, from hiding, and he was determined to do the job justice. He wasn’t going to let Dumbledore or Moody down. He refused to leave until he received an answer from Alastor, one way or another.
And then he refused to leave until he got the one he wanted.
“Times like this, it’s everyone’s business. Everyone needs to work towards stopping You-Know-Who. He wants you back in the Order and fighting against the Death Eaters. Dumbledore knows you’re the best, and with you on our side, we can definitely win.”
Okay, so some of that was his own wishful thinking. But truly, with Alastor Moody on their side and fighting for them, how could they lose? “I’ll let him know. But I can’t guarantee that he’ll remember or listen! Anything else you want me to tell him?”
